Urethane or Fiber Glass?
I've been seeing different kinds of body kits.. some are made of FIBER GLASS and some of them are URETHANE... which do you think is much better to go for? URETHANE or FIBER GLASS? some people says Fiber Glass are better because they are light or something while others says URETHANES are better because they won't break.. what do you guys think?
there was a thread recently that someone posted a long list of pro's and con's of each...basically fiberglass hold paint better, but is easier to chip. Urethane bends more, but also may be harder to install if fitment is not perfect. It also has more of a tendency to sag and paint does not stick well. I'd say that each are equal in different ways, but fiberglass kits are generally about half the price of urethane, so when I get my r34 kit, im goin with fiberglass.

To Urethane. I got into a head on collision last year on Christmas & the impact was so hard, I was almost positive my bumper had gotten smashed into pieces. Nothing happened to it besides for missing chunks of paint........ urethane bends and then bends back into its original place.
Power to Urethane!NiKi
check out www.aftermarketkits.com . I haven't read it, but on their front page they say all their kits are "baby blue so you know it's the best." They might go further, i dunno.
urethane all the way if ur in snow. I was drivin in 9 inches of snow today and i just was plowing through it with my full urethane front, sides and full rear. I promise u, it pays off cuz if i had fiberglass it woulda cracked probably 3 times on my way home especially trying to get into my parking spot and out of it. bump urethane

youll be dissapointed later on and end up buy a urethane one. Winter isnt the only thing youll need to worry about. Little fender benders, rock chips on highway driving, speed bumps etc. Invest in urethane unless you hav a trailer queen

Yep that is the only downfall, it's hard to paint. Because of the material it is made out of; urethane. But they painted mine and it looks fine, it just takes time to match the paint from the car to the urethane bumper, because urethane normally is black.... so it's tough.
Other than that, there are no other downfalls to it that I am aware of. So I'd go with urethane, but then again that is my opinion. -NiKi

ive decided definitely on fiberglass now. After reading a few DIY's on how to repair it, it really sounds pretty easy. I know i'll probably mess it up, but the difference between the fiberglass r34 and urethane r34 is $500, and i don't think i'll spend that much repairing the fiberglass.
