Some updated pics of my Evo8
Since buying my evo in july (traded in my 01 civic ex
kinda missing it lol), I've put maybe 4-5 grand of mods/work into it. I waxed it up with Meguire's gold and cleaned it nice and took a few pictures. I didn't really bother cleaning the engine bay and I know the inside needs vaccuuming, but it was getting dark so I had to take them quick
. Also, the front lip is off because i'm getting a full carbon fiber splitter replacement
.
My list of current mods include:
-HKS 264/264 cams
-HKS SSQV Bov (uninstalled, stock unit is good enough til I get my crushed 1g on my new Intercooler piping.)
-AEM intake (uninstalled for now)
-K&N Drop-in filter in stock airbox
-Redline 75w90 differential fluids
-Redline MT-90 Transmission fluid
-Steel Braided Clutch line
-Clutchmasters Stage 3 kit
-B&B Full 3" Turboback with cat-delete
-HKS EVC5 Boost controller
-UK Evolution VIII Badge
-MOMO Raptor shift ***
-35% tint all around
-Triple pod a-pillars
-Autometer C/F Boost gauge
-Autometer C/F A/F gauge
-Alpine 9373 Headunit
-GReddy Turbo Timer
-APExi SAFCII with ECU extention harness (tuned for mild street settings)
-Cusco Oil Catch Can
-Grounding Kit Produced by AMT-Racing (shameless plug)

I dyno'd around 320 to the wheels but should be around 350-360 after my intercooler and piping come in! My A/F mixture is tuned pretty conservatively so I might be able to squeeze out 360-370.
EDIT: pictures are in my original post towards the bottom at the link

With aftermarket BOVs it's important to consider the amount of airflow the valve will be working with. If pressures aren't high enough at throttle drop, the BOV won't purge, and the turbo will sometimes continue to spool.
I'm just taking a wild guess there, though.

I took it off because the stock bov/diverter is a very nice unit for holding decent amounts of boost. No adjusting needed and it holds like a champ. Only other alternative that is viable is the Crushed 1G bov which I am getting with my new intercooler piping. An upgraded BOV isn't nessicary for this car isn't until ridiculously high boosts are achieved.

As for the drop. I'm getting the TEIN coilover system with the electronic control next spring. If you're going to do it, do it right! Forget the springs!

sweet car man, i only could wish they would have come out when mitsubishi originally planned. if my damn old car didn't die i might be driving one to.....yea...i'm jealous.
i like EVO 8's a lot...minus the tail lights though. A buddy of mine has a white one with the JDM EVO 7 tails, TEIN Flex coilovers with EDFC, HKS exhaust, HKS BOV, sway bars, 4 strut bars, all the gauges, and controlers that a boosted car could ever need, etc. His car is bad-***. Hes getting a bunch of power stuff for christmas too. If only i had 30K...

Yeah those tails are a must for the evo's. They're the ones found on the JDM Evo7 so they're rather easy to get.
I agree on the seats. Silver/black all around would've been sweet
