Unhappy My messed up car...shrug...Updated See page 3

I got owned by a turn on the road which resulted in this damage, oops!

Warning to 56ker's large photos!

Inside
Front Drivers Side
Front Passengers Side

Ok, so basically this happened because I was going around town up at college and learning the roads. So I was driving up this one hill that had a turn that happened at the very top of the road. TI braked as hard as possible locking up the tires not knowing that the car did not have ABS.

The good news is that I was not hurt and that now I learned that part of town has a quick turn at the top of the hill.

Oh BTW this all happened on Veterans Day this year, car will be out of the shop, this monday...hopefully.

go to a speed shop and have them do an estimate on it toget it (fixed)
kitted. then go to the insurance shop and get thier estimate and see if the speed shop can hook you up for a good price

Dude on that subject of putting a bodykit. It brings up so much issues.

Just by driving a dam civic that is stock, people are wanting to race me, I am in no mood to get more people wanting to race me which I think a bodykit will do. If anything I rather have my car look as stock as possible and have a k20 engine swap. Less weight more performance.

you dont have to have a ulgy ricey kit do a acura conversion or someting.
they are going to charge the insurance sooooo much for oem parts and ****.. not to say that i'm into kits. look at my ride its not going to get anything unless its a modest lip or acura conversion. im just saying that its an option.. do you want to get something out of it..

Personally, after the accident I just wanted my car fixed with the least amount of wait. I was going to say that before but I did not want to list all my reasons out. I have had faster cars and gotten egged on by people wanting to race me just because they thought my car was fast. Personally I rather lessen my chances of that happening because it pisses me off.

actually the K20 is more weight than your stock motor. You must be thinking about the H22 versus the K20...the H22 is 70-80lbs heavier than the K.

Thanks for the engine info for weight differences.

My point is I just don't like bodykits, if anything I would get the OEM kit and that is it cause I want a sleeper for a car.

Green Civic: I was going about 70 mph before I braked, I am unsure what speed I was going anytime after until I came to a complete stop. I can remember everything in slow motion now but it happened so fast.

Armieo: I never even hit the airbag because my momentum was nothing when they were activated. So they opened up after most the accident happened and were useless in my scenario.

Its the curse of the stock Firestones. Make sure you get new tires next time dude. This might have been avoided with good rubber. Good luck

Update:

Last Thursday, December 4th, the body shop said that my car would be done today, that the car is painted and ready for assembly. I was not getting my hopes up since they said that my car would be done two times previously.

So today when I call the receptionist picks up the phone, and I ask when I can pick up my car. That is when I find out my car is not done. Grrr, I cannot believe this because I was trying to be nice to them and not be a complete *** with this.

Anyways later I speak with one of the owners on the phone. Them telling me that I signed a paper at the beginning about the end date only being an estimate. So I pushed the issue about this being the third time that I have had a bad estimate on completion of the car. So then I am told that my car needs to be taken still to get aligned, the airbags to be reset and...they removed the freon (sp?) from the air conditioning system so they need to have the system filled again. Information that I was not told before. So my car wont be ready for a while...

To put some pressure on them I said that I will be contacting my insurance AAA whom reccommended them and tell them about how they are not being to professional. That is when they told me that my car will be ready in two days...this Wednesday.

I really don't trust the whole Wednesday date as well.

CDMX: With AAA, even if there is a problem with the car after I recieve it the body shop has to fix it. So I don't have to worry about that. The shop has been unprofessional with smaller things which I did let slide, they did not call me when they said they would, I never heard about the increase in the estimate of repairs. Plus the person I have been dealing with said that the car is done and just needs to be assembled (sp?) , saying that it will be done very quickly.

Other general info:

The body shop stated that they were pushing for the wednesday of Thanksgiving week which was 2 weeks ago. Then they quoted my the end of last week.

This is not the first car that they have had to work on so they should be able to estimate the time a lot better than they have been.

i went throught the same thing! everytime i went in there was something new someting. they had scratched tint that they had messed up the windsheild needed to be replaced blahblahblah...thats not my problem they said 2 weeks,
that **** went on for about 2 months. and the damn rental car that i had to drive at first was a 02 maxima se so i didnt mind then they put me in a camry. i fu(king hate those cars its like a damn grandpa car or something.... so i pushed and got my deductable payed half by the body shop and half by me only 250$ i was like sweet but i need it asap. and told them if they could get my car together that i would be giving them a good reveiw. needless to say i got the damn thing!

Hope this isn't redundant...
Airbags - The airbags in my old Volvo scared the hell out of me when they went off in an accident. Luckily it prevented me from snapping my neck though.
Air Conditioning - I am 99.9% positive that Civics DO NOT have Freon. Freon has been illegal for at least 10 years. They are pork-barrelling your bill...

hey wisper... so ur head actually didn't hit the bag right?

I wonder how cushioning an air bag would be if ur braking hard like a shiznit, the airbag is blowing up hard like a shiznit...faces are hitting bags hard like shiznits due to bags coming at u fast like shiznit and ur face coming at the bag fast LIKE SHIZNIT due to the braking. LoL

I mean there are articles in the newspaper of rescue workers being clocked good by airbags that deploy when they are trying to break passengers free from their crashed cars. If airbags come out fast enuf to knock you out, won't they also give you a bloody nose?

Have fun reading that.

Sorry...... but I have never driven an airbagged car until I got this civic this February.

Last question.......... who is that chick in your avatar and can u give me the whole pic?
