Here's Sonia . . . the STi - Pics updated Nov 13th
...whats stoneguard again?
some first mods id suggest would be a nice sounding turbo exhaust (greddy mabey?) and a bov. and can u put cais on those? i know that on the vw 1.8t if you just stick a cai on there you can hear the stock bov blowing off pretty damn well.

Congrats on the new STi, and welcome to family. I highly recommend the APS 3" exhaust. It sounds mean as hell
. Oh ya...do your brakes squeal yet? Mine started squealing at about 400 miles.
I've debated finding a smaller wing...the OEM one gets really really noisey on the highway and sometimes the back glass shakes a little from the vibration.

No one has successfully cracked the ECU codes yet. So, until proper engine management is devloped, there's no way in hell I'm swapping the turbo, or even doing a TBE. Too many issues with CELs and detonation, right now.
The BOV on all Subbies is a non-atmospheric. Changing that out will make it a lot louder (ricey) yes, but it WILL sacrifice performance. And the current exhaust sounds a lot nicer than you might think. It's not that loud. . . but when coming to a stop, and even just idling, it's got a very surprising growl to it. Kinda like the old Mustang 302s I grew up with. (Obviously not AS throaty though)
Once TXS releases their STi-spec UTEC box (or Vishnu does the same) I'm focusing on suspension and other mods.

lease: . . . they're squeaking. Only when I'm just about to stop, but they're doing it. If it persists, I'm going to stop at the dealership and see what's up with that. Hella brake dust, though. . . but I was expecting that.
Noisy? PSHHH!!!! Take that back! Part of the whole STi experience is hearing the wind go over the hoodscoop and the wing. Well, that and having the turbo sound like a jetliner at highway speeds.

I'm not complaining! Its just that when your around 150 or so....it gets kind of annoying...
. I've put just under 2000 miles on mine and the brakes are still sqealing. Thread Starter

Not only that, but the CF wing would have to sit about 9 inches off the trunk deck to even match the functionality of the stock wing.
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

There are 2 Sti's down here that have CF trunk lids with the stock spoiler. They look sick.

CF trunk = okay. . . . actual weight savings (albeit minimal)
CF hood = retarded. The stock aluminum hood is light as a feather.
Eh, imma keep CF off my car . . . belongs on other cars, but not my baby.

and the stoneguard is sweet, i saw an article about that in a mag and they installed it on a wrx wagon with a full kit and it went on over the kit and all and u could barely see the line on the hood. perfect. i have often thought of getting it also, but it is so expensive, cheaper than a paint job though.

Indeed. . . doing most of the car ran me just under $800, but again it's well worth it.
I'll have ICE pics up in the next few days. . . she's almost done.

ICE? Your ICE better be a Greddy E-manage, an EDFC and a boost gauge.
You got a steering wheel and a shifter... how much more entertainment in the car do you need? You don't have time for CDs!

BM. . . needed an alarm, and the ICE from the Civic didn't have anywhere else to go. Don't worry. . . just ONE sub and a custom fiberglass bos ( a few pounds ). The system is MUCH lighter than the Civic's.

the STi goes faster in reverse gear than ours does in 5th gear! LOL j/k but anyways i gotta say I truly love the STi's. I worked at Subaru this summer and always wanted to drive the STi but never got a chance to.
