Talking the most fortunate type of ACCIDENT....

IS WHEN ITS NOT YOUR FAULT!!!!!!! muahhahahahahahaha!!!! I was driving to school in my... 01 taffeta white coupe ex... *my 2nd pride and joy* and out of the corner of my eye, for a split second, when there was nothing to do to avoid it, a DEER comes CRASHING into the side of my car . i was like and my friend Megan's dad stopped. The deer FLEW to the other side of the road some how, i never went and looked at it but it was definitely dead upon impact because it crashed into my ENKEI 5+ 17"s and broke the majority of its bones. it ended up off to the right because i was in the left lane and somehow he got past the entire right lane and onto the shoulder...

my car was undriveable. (meaning, to the experts, i'd get in trouble for driving it) the engine was fine, the fire department said when they got there *TWO TRUCKS OF NICE BUFF MEN CAME TO SEE THE mildly distressed CAIT!!!* they pulled my fender away from the passenger side wheel. two guys came sometime later (one w/ a mullet and the other w/ a rat tail) and asked to take the deer mommy came and called the insurance company. i had called 911 and they connected me to the FHP which i proceeded to hang up on because they were like " you have to do it yourself hold on" so i was just frustrated and hung up on them. both deputies from the school came and finally got my car moved out of the left lane... in the mean time everyone's driving over pieces of my smashed headlight, lol and few people saw the deer before it was picked up so theyre all wondering "where's the other car!?"

the worst part was that my ex *LOSER* who has a 5th gen DX coupe, drives by and SEES my car.... he will just wait.... muahahahaha! my sister is in the meeting for the german club (i was trying to get to that because i'm the president) and i called my teacher to tell her wtf's up and my sister heard me and LEAVES SCHOOL telling everyone and therefore freaking them out in the parking lot that her "sister has just gotten into an accident" so the entire junior and senior class is FREAKING OUT.

but im fine, it hit the passenger side, crinkled up the hood, ripped off the fender, smashed the headlight and ruined the bumper cover. the RIM was un-touched !! heres the scary part though: if i had not been speeding (only a few mph's over) the deer would have gone in front of me and i would have A. swerved and hit another car in efforts to avoid it or B. hit it head on resulting in a shattered windshield and a shattered Cait... so WHO doesn't believe in God?

Here comes the best part. though i had to leave my car for two weeks while it was getting repaired and i had to drive my dad's '92 mazda B2600i pickup for those two weeks, INSURANCE IS THE BEST!!! the first estimate came to $2900 w/ aftermarket parts... however when they received and pieced together all the parts one of them wasn't fitting right.... they ended up getting me a stock bumper and fender but found out that the fender didn't fit right. i got a brand new stock fender, brand new hood, bumper cover, and, best of all BRAND NEW AUTHENTIC JDM HEADLIGHTS!!! i guess they didn't want to order and clear two new OEM ones maybe cuz they were aware of the risk or because they didn't know how to do it or if they were unaware that it was possible to clear the OEM's... the lady referred to them as the "new version" of clear lights when she was telling me what the "only thing different about my car" last Friday when i got it back. the grand total neared $3500 . my mom paid for just $200 of it and i got half a brand new car! and u know those JDM's aren't close to $200. YAY! my car is absolutely BEAUTIFUL now.

this, though it was hard to be away from rocky (her name!!) for two whole weeks has definitely paid off. my insurance isn't going up also so i'm excited about that, too :-D :-D :-D my yearly insurance cost is $2200 and thats about $1200 less than the total for the damages so i STILL got a darn good deal with this accident happening..... GO BAMBI!!!

i'll be posting new pictures soon!!!

Well, I am very happy to hear that it turned out all right for you. Certainly it shows why you have to pay for insurance.

ON a side note, this is exactly why we have deer hunting season. If left to nature, the wolves would eat some of the dear and keep the population in check. But sadly we have driven them off, so the deer boink like crazy and over populate. Hunting season is very controlled. It only allows the small decrease in the population. Thus it keeps the deer from coming close to people and committing suicide on your car.

I realize that most people think deer are harmless, but I am sure you can now agree that a deer can do serious damage. Plus every hunter I know eats the deer so it is part of the circle of life thing.

Stay safe and watch out for those deer!

Pics of the "authentic" JDM headlights. Because JDM headlights are not clear on the 01-03.

And congrats on getting into a wreck, because that seems to be your attitude

my accidents were more fortunate...since it didnt' involve totaling my car :P

accaident 1-
rear ended at a stoplight, rear bumper has 2 tiny dents, and the hatch is bent in 1 spot...guy cut me a check for 1400 to not go throuhg insurance(of course I took it to the most expensive shop for estimate)

with the money I got a bodykit and its sitting in my garage till spring...
fast forward to a month ago...2nd accident...-
hit and run, guy hits my front bumper and bents it, then tries running away, probably thought I'd be stuck there for a long time shocked from accident, needless to say u-turn, peel out, chirp into 2nd, chirp into 3rd and I'm right on his *** looking at his license plate. Pull over call cops. And a guy drives by and gives me the guys plates that fell off. Insruance came out a week ago...got $1500 bumper + fender needs adjustment + my headlight is chipped by 1 mm. And since I alreayd have the kit...the only thing I need done is fender adjustment..cuz the headlight is fine. $1000 extra in my pocket...+ my car is still driveable.

i bought a kit...no need for a CF hood....I like to by my parts either in group buys or with huge discounts...i..e for the kit I got it for 850 and the retail price is 1200 bucks, and my exhaust I got it straihgt from japan and ended up paying 520 instead of the usual price of 800 at the time(more stores started selling it now so the average is 650),

that's kind of cool what you did with your hubcaps...i mean, they're not rims, but they actually look pretty good until (if) you end up buying rims...

how'd you do it? i mean what paint and everything did you use?
