Chrome interior done, opinions...

Ok, I've been pissed everytime I saw the interior of some '02, '03, '04, and Hybrid with their chrome pieces and my '01 with none. I also noticed that each year and body style had different parts chromed and not everything. So I thought why not do what Honda should have done to begin with on EX trims, consolidate all chrome pieces in my '01 coupe interior. Here are the results, let me know what you all think, thanks.

Overall pic:

Chrome AC vents from '02 sedan:

Chrome door handles from '03 sedan:

Chrome shift boot & e-brake from '03 Hybrid:

Finally, chrome gauge rings from eBay (only non-Oem pieces):

Why is the top of the driver side air vent not painted/chromed? like it a lot. Did you buy the peices from honda for all of the vents and such or did you paint most of it?

The material looks cheap. They don't fit right too. I hope you didn't get the kit from alkaplus.

Oh, yeah forgot to mention why the e-brake button off the Hybrid is not chromed yet. Well... I'm still sanding a hole in the button to fit better since the Hybrid and 01 e-brakes are different.

FYI, all chrome parts bought from honda for cheap except for the gauge rings, which I got from eBay for $10 awhile back. All honda parts were less than $20 each, except for the e-brake (about $67, I know yikes, but I didn't care).

The top of the driver side vent is covered with velcro so I can easily and quickly attach/detach my Dell Axim X5 w/ wifi & GPS PDA.

All parts were bought from honda except the Ractive Chrome gauges (from eBay).

Huh?! What are you referring to? This thread is for my Honda OEM chrome pieces, not my aftermarket brushed aluminum interior trim kit. Sorry, if my descriptions were confusing, anyways yup the trim kit isn't a perfect fit. Pretty close though and still looks nice, the pictures don't do it justice, but this kit although with some minor fitment issues (just the window controls only) is very nice looking. The trim kit pieces are thicker than most but it was the only one that looked like brushed aluminum whereas everything else was just gray. I got them from exoticwooddash.com, since I'm too lazy to paint a lot of stuff, just a few pieces.

How did you find those rings on ebay? I've been DYING for a set of those?
Any hints?

Oh, never mind. I found them under a generic search, but not under civic. Hmm.

Looks great!

Thanks 4 the comments everyone. FYI, if u want 2 get the chrome parts from honda make sure to get them off the newest models (03 & 04s). Anything older & prices practically triple. For ex. 02 handles = $60, but 04 = $8. Something to do w/ warranty prices?!

Probably, but I'll take a look at my receipts later and post the part #'s from there.

If you're referring to the trim kit and not the chrome parts, then it's about 2-3 times thicker than the thinnest trim kits (basically about 1/16").

Thanks This is the last of my interior mods. Finally nearing completion of all the mods I wanted to do to my car. Just 3 more to go (hidden compartment, fuel kill switch, and gps tracker).

Damn, can't find my receipts (probably threw them away by accident). Anyways, don't really need the part#'s or a website, just go to your local Honda parts dept. They're all cheap except for the shift boot and e-brake and there's no shipping and takes a week or less. Just make sure to get the most recent parts and not old ones (only 03 and '04s as they are much, much cheaper than 01/02s).

$500 from wetokole.com, yeah I know pricey, but hey I love them much more than leather as they stay cool in the heat.

Nope. As I mentioned in my initial post, the rings were the only parts I didn't get from Honda. I instead got them from eBay several months back.

I got my chrome rings!!! They look sooo nice. Geez, I have no life

I did only the gauge rings, though. Left the rest of the interior alone.
The chrome rings look like they should have been there from the factory. Thanks, NorrinRadd for the pics and a push in the right direction. Just a "touch" of class.

You're very welcome! I'm just glad you were able to get the rings, as I know they're harder to come by these days.
