if you had to money to buy two cars, why not just buy a better car in the first place. I mean I like my civic and all, but if i had more money I would not waste it on two cars when I could buy one nicer one.

Its a damn Civic... what do you need a winter beater for? A civic is a winter beater. Take the front bumper off and put the stock one back on, swap the rims for stock and go. No car under $35000 requires a winterbeater.

You obviously don't live in Vermont, sometimes when I go to work in the morning at 6:30 there is still about 4" of smow on the main road, combine that with road salt, ice, and sub-zero temperatures 6 months out of a year and you start to wonder why you still live here.

Makes me feel fortunate for living on the West Coast. The last time we got a "big" snow storm (a foot and a half) was back in January of 1996. It's very rare up here (Vancouver). It snowed a few times last year, then the rain washed it away the next day. The main problem up here in the winter is the big wind/rain storm's off the Pacific, and icy roads in the mornings.

Icy roads sux... I hate it back in high school when I had to catch the bus and walk home... Almost falling on my *** or on my face going down steps or just plain out walking on the sidewalks or streets... But the fun part was seeing a shitload of people getting owned by icy/slippery grounds... Hahaha i seen alot of fat people just fall out of no where and other stuck up people that slips and couldn't catch themselves in time and BLAP!!! w00t!!!
