I've got my ipod hooked up to my Alpine deck but i've got the Belkin cup holder, not as nice looking but functional, looking good.

I'm working on a hidden mini PC with IR DIY, when I'm done, I'll post too. Gonna be awhile though...

Rep Power: 0 DID I GET THE WRONG PART?
sorry for all the links that follow but i need help!
I notice that you got:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZjZtxn8...=0&cc=01&avf=N
instead of:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZjZtxn8...=0&cc=01&avf=N
.
i have a jVC deck and had the option of this piece:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZjZtxn8...=0&cc=01&avf=N
or this one:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZjZtxn8...=0&cc=01&avf=N
Unfortunately i ordered the second JVC one instead of the first JVC one that i posted above. Basically, i ordered the one that does not look like the one that you have and i wanted to know if my application will still work or if i need to return the product. thank you!

Rep Power: 0 I got the first one (CDRB10) instead of the 2nd one, since its the newer pioneer IP-bus connector as the older one was not compatible w/ my deck (even though both connectors look the same, but different pins internally). At first they looked the same to me, but I called Pioneer first just to make sure and they told me what decks went with which connector and mine went with the CDRB10.
I suggest before opening your JVC IP connector, to contact JVC and confirm if it will work with your deck. Good luck...

Rep Power: 0 DUN. thanks for all the help NorrinRadd.
Anyway, i was wondering if i get the dock, the sound quality would be better since the dock has an un-amplified "line-out". right now when i turn it up it's wayyyy more distorted than the CDs.

that's odd that all of you need additonal adapters, i installed my pod with only a phone jack to rca cable
but i am trying to find something that can control the pod so i dont have to keep looking at it

Rep Power: 273 I just installed my 4th gen 20gig iPod with the P.I.E adapter in my Civic. I put a 1/8" plug in one of the caps next to the accessory power socket. I may just scrap that and get the new Alpine iPod interface with a new headunit. You can control the iPod through the deck. Looks sweet.
http://www.alpine-usa.com/ I can't paste a direct link, but it's on the homepage titled, "Ready for Ipod."

Rep Power: 0 Thanks NorrinRadd, just did this yesterday for my Iriver HP120. (sorta like an ipod, but with built - in recording features). I did everything but the drill hole. I don't mind the loose wire hanging a little bit , but most of it is under the plastic molding in the center so all is well. i Was using an FM transmitter before which was okay... but it would get interference with other FM transmitions. which pops up often in nyc.. but this is awesome.

I have an 04' civic coupe, with an elclipse cd5444 hu, I took out part where the plug in lighter is (right below the ac controls) and I am having trouble finding my aux imput. With the tight space I have I see 2 sets of red and white chords. One pair is plugged to something else, and the other is alone (I dont know much about my wiring, I had a friend hook it up for me). I plugged in the RC adaptor into the plugs and nothing happened. I know where to go on my hu to play the ipod, but still no go.
Sorry if I'm bad explaining this but I'm having trouble doing this, but I'm on the final step. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
Thank you.
