Help with Paintjobs!!!
OK guys its matt here, like most people i have a ton of ideas floating around in my head about what i want to do with my car as far as styling goes. One idea of mine is that i would like a custom color. I want something no one else has. I want to stand out in the crowd of civics out there. What types of things should i be looking for to do this? How much should i expect to pay?? or just tell about your stories of getting a custom paintjob for your car.
Thank you for the color ideas, i really like the civic si blue idea. Have any of you actually done a paintjob on your car before. I am looking for info on what i should look for in a shop, and how much i should expect to pay.

how about some sorta hippy rainbow color with peace signs on it?
that would definately make you stand out in the crowd! lol
I say a darker color of some sort.. the flashy lighter colors hurt my eyes these days.. maybe its because i see those colored cars usually acquainted with clear euro-altezza lights and under body neons with stock hubcaps?

When looking for a paint shop, you gotta look for a lot of things. Don't goto places like one day paint or what not. Expect to be paying around 4000-5000 if you're not sponsored. What would be included in that price would be: engine removal, interior removal, sometimes windshield removal, all the small things (lights, sills, handels, etc. ) removed, sand the stock paint off, primer the car, sand down the primer to smooth it out, shoot the main color, shoot the clear coat, then buff the paint and reinstall everything. If you go for a pearl color, you'd have to lay the main color, the pearl, then the clear. If you marble the car, you'd have to shoot the main color, then apply the setter to give the marble effect, then spray the marble color, then spray the clear. It's a lot of work to repaint a car and it's really important to find a place that won't overspray you car or what not. They should have a paint oven to do the painting in, so that the paint can adhear to the metal better. Hope all this information helps. good luck on the paint job.
