Okay sounds weird but does anyone with a DX get annoyed by the little black strip on the trunk? And what about those black side mirrors? Has anyone painted them? If you had I was just wondering how and ultimately which is the best way!

cheapest and easiest way i can think of is maybe going to a junkyard and finding a car with your colour. the thing that annoys me the most is that black strip along the side of the car, i got a sedan and cant take it off cause its got holes underneath them .

My 01 LX has the black mirrors and door handles, but that trunk strip is white. I saw my first DX the other day and didn't think the black strip looked that bad... kind of breaks up a sea of white on my car.

Mirror -- I prefer black, since the paint will just chip anyways. Actually, I like the 92-95 style mirrors the best...

Oh well, its my beater so I don't really care that much about things like this... For me, its just transportation. Doesn't mean I don't keep it clean and all, but I am just not that worried about things like the body colored trim...

BTW, mine doesn't have any side moldings, but I've seen cars with it in body color -- never black.

Thanks for all the tips guys! Has anyone ever actually painted theirs yet? I have yet to see it done to a dx, also I wonder if you can paint the front grill (bottom piece that holds fog lights)

Hey man. Me and Riley both painted our back trim piece. He has a sedan so his was chrome but I have a DX like you. Basically we sanded it down then went over it with thinner. Then painted about 2-3 coats of factory matched spray paint Riley bought from some chick up north. All in all ir worked out well on my car. Riley's was a little harder bcuz we had to sand every last chrome piece off. Anyways hope this helps. The paint will come out brighter then the car at first but after a while it faded into the right color.
