If you got a ticket, try to find someone who can pull it for you or something, or someone to put in a good word with the judge if you can. That way hopefully the judge will reduce it to a non-moving violation. Thats what happened to me. Oh, and I am 22, with a clean driving record. Geico wanted to charge me damn near $1000, yes $1000 US Dollars, per MONTH, Progressive wanted to charge $4500 every 6 mo, So I had to go with Allstate who charge me $160 per mo for the same full coverage, but it is under my father. I live in New Orleans.

Tickets/Violations/etc: None!!
Alot huh? Reason for it being so high:
#1: Its a brand spankin new car.
#2: I'm only 19 years old
#3: I'm a Male

i've only gotten stopped once, and that was because i was going 8 mph over the limit... but i only got a warning at that time... and that doesnt show up on anything so that doesnt affect my insurance..

you all have no idea what i'm dealing with......were talking clean record for 5 years other than one small speeding ticket and i'm paying $329 a month!!! it went up 41% cuase of "cross the board increases"...i dont know ANYONE esle that had a 41% increase!!! Rep Power: 0 I am 25 with 5 points. thru geico it was 1800 through Progressive i got 800 every 6 months on my civic.
Now with progressive with 5 points i got a 350z and am paying 220 a month. I went from 151 to 220. which isn't bad considering.
with geico and no points at 25 it was 1200. Geico sux. save 15% my ***.
Breakdown for current payments
CIvic
151 - insurance
327 - car payment
15 - gas per week
350Z
220 - insurance
621 - car
56 - gas per week
and the beauty is in 5 months 3 points dissappear and in 11 months all points go bye bye. My insurance will be low as hell on a Z.

If it were just me, it would be about $85-$100 per month, but my wife is a brand new driver, got her license about a year ago, so she's a new driver, and therefore her rates are higher.
She doesn't drive much, maybe once a month, but I keep her insured because, with 3 years on her record, we can get insurance under a group policy with my work, and the both of us would be $1300/year with all the coverage above. Two years to go.
But it is worth it to shop around for insurance. My old company wanted to charge me $7000/year for the two of us, cause she is new, and I told them where they could stuff their policy.
Co-operators insurance is pretty damn fair if you ask me.
