Yeah but why put stuff on your car that makes it proclaim something its not? Yes you can make your car look good, and then you can do what you did and put gauges on your car that are completely unnecessary, and give out a false perception of what your car really is.

unnecessary would be putting a boost or nitrous when you don't have the stuff. I don't think the guages i have in the car are going to make my car look any faster than it is.

The only reason you'd need gauges is if you were running FI, or you had an extremely tricked NA car like the KMS civic. You don't need gauges to monitor your temps, etc, for a stock or nearly stock car. Therefore by putting gauges on your car, you're implying that you have something under your hood that you don't. I know when I see gauges the first thing I think is what's he running under the hood, not "wow nice gauges. They really make his car look good."

I'm just putting in guages that alot of other stock cars already have. as for the air/fuel gauge i can go without that one but i like the way it looks. it's not like i'm saying "look at my guages want to race." I know my car is slow and most minivans can beet me, but if you want to think my car is fast go ahead. they are there for show and i like the look

No kidding. . . what's with all the hating? I added three gauges in an a-pillar pod for similar reasons. . . (show car). However, one is VERY important for what I DO HAVE installed in my car. Two amps that peak at around 4,000 watts. . . . I don't know about anyone else, but I sure think it's nice to have a VOLTMETER present when at sound competitions to know when your alternator can't keep up with the load placed on it. Nothing more embarrassing than trying to win a DB drag and have your amps clip on you!

As for the oil pressure gauge, I believe no car should be without one. Idiot lights are great. . . . . for idiots. And the A/F meter. . . yes, it's just a nice light show for cars that have an ECU, but again. . . if it's for show anyway, all the more reason, right? Personally, with my modest engine mods, (CAI, header, DC TCS), I think it's a little helpful. I know for a fact I'm running a little lean sometimes, and it's nice to know. YES, I've detonated a few times in the last couple of weeks. . . and the gauge has been hinting at the fact that my fuel pump MAY be having a hard time keeping up with the opened airpath. . . or I just need to tune.

Either way, how can anyone say it's ricey to add gauges that HELP? Especially TWO of them that should be part of the OEM gauge cluster to begin with?

Personally, I would have to say it does make one wonder what's under the hood when they see a pillar-mounted pod, but there are seldom better places to mount gauges in an already small interior.

SSV, shake 'em off. I think your ride still looks hella clean, and you WILL have people with ricier rides than you giving you ****. That's just the American way, I guess.
