Paint that CF stuff! If you want to go for that "racer" look leave the hood as is, but man you really should paint the trunk and the lip. The lip does look nice tho in terms of design...just looks like you're too poor to paint it. If it were me I'd paint it all. Because you have CF here and there, kinda looks messy.
Just wondering, but why would you get a CF trunk? If anything, you'd want to lighten the load up front, to even out the weight distribution that FF cars suffer from.

Rep Power: 0 i think the car looks like most of the cars we make fun of around here, i have a feeling some people are liking the look cause the car has the type r engine. i honestly think it looks horrible, bash me all you want, but its too messy, cf here, silver there, chrome here. bah. pick one color and stick to it.
People just dont apreciate a nice jdm styled car when they see it. I just ordered my CF trunk lid form Manataray Motorsports. Anybody ever here anything about them. Im hoping it doesnt take to long
i got a mugen front lip on my 7th gen because they arent common and i LOVE the look....but if EVERYONE is gunna get one now i'm gunna ******* scream! Yes it looks good and yes mine looks good but i'm sure everyone can find someway else to make there car look good and ORIGINAL.........i'm tired of swapping **** cause looks catch on

Btw, most people in Japan PAINT their CF hoods now. Most cars that have them have them painted, like the R34 GT-R Vspec. I've never seen a single car with a CF trunk too.
Its not a question of JDM, or even rice. Aesthetically, its not unified when there's some CF here and there. Looks disharmonious.
Gotti: Heheh, so defensive. TYC's are Altezza's, albeit really nicely made one's.
But they are much more pleasing to look at then those plasticky foggy pink altezza's that scour the roads these days.-Aki

Rep Power: 0 That's exactly what I meant, JDM styled, I'm not saying its straight up JDM either. Let me rephrase then: just because a car has carbon fiber doesn't mean its JDM-styled. I've never seen a carbon fiber trunk there in my 2 years of living there. And there weren't any when I went to Japan 3 months ago either. I can pretty much guarentee you that you won't bump into a car with a carbon fiber trunk in Japan if you just nonchalantly walk the streets.
You know what would be "JDM styled"? Know what's big in Japan? Decked out Toyota Scions and Honda Elements, rollin in "huge" 14 inch rims (they got tiny diameters for their tires). Minivans with gigantic wings. Souped up old Toyota Crowns and huge dual 6" exhausts on them (even bigger than the ones here).
Even if it was a big craze in Japan, it doesn't change the aesthetic fact that it looks kinda confused to have CF here and there.

Rep Power: 0 well being the entire engine/drivetrain, ECU, suspension, braking system are OEM honda JDM type R.... that enough to call a car somewhat JDM styled. not including the cars buddyclub spec 3 dc5 catback, spoon suspension bracings, 5zigen/black racing phantoms, and spoon style lip.
yes carbon painted would look nice too, but the quality of the CF part on this car are top notch, so why not show that to others, as well as show judges. i personally like the car as is. but we will all have our own opinions of course. thanks for the great pos/neg feedback all!

I personally think the car looks nice. Yea, it's not really all stuff I'd do ::coughallsilverAltezza grillcough:: but I don't have a Civic, so whatever.
The CF is very good quality... and the car overall is tight as hell. And fast.
As far as the comments about keeping it sleep-esque... some people may recognize that there's something different about it regardless of how many different colors it may be. Others may say "pppssshhh... that Civic's all riced* out. What a loser that guy is!!" before they 'get acquainted'. So, like Greg said, might as well show of the high quality of the CF than spend the extra $$ to get it painted top-quality and hide it. Besides... hasn't Paul dropped enough money into that baby?! hehehe
