Rpm sporadic at idle gauges go out and clicking noise in glove box

I own a 2001 Honda Civic ex and recently the timing belt and water pump was replaced along with the timing belt camshaft pulley. Once we started up the car. It ran fine besides the battery light was on. On my way to autozone to have the alternator and battery tested the car had a sudden jerk and the rpm would begin to bounce up and down about a 1rpm and each time the rpm bounce the car would jerk a bit. Along side this problem the check engine light began to flash and clicking noise started coming from behind the glove box in unison. Soon after the jerking, clicking stopped, the battery light went off and the check engine light went completely on as the gauges all shut off. I arrived to autozone, turned off the car and turned it back on to find the car began overheating and the clicking and flashing, gauge problem began immediately after start up. The battery and alternator was fine but they couldn’t seem to read the codes as it said there was an error in the connection.

ECU is possibly fried due to the loose alternator bolts.

I’m looking for an ecu and called the dealership. My ecu part number is 37820 PLR 518 but I found a used ecm that’s 378 PLR A03. Is this one compatible with my car?

You fried the ECU and you have to get an exact part number match off your old ECU, I did the same thing. DON"T GO TO A DEALERSHIP! Not even to get the replacement ECU Flashed! Just match the SKU off the side of the old ECU, I bought a used one over a year ago for $50.00 out of a wreckers ( check my threads) and had it flashed for $75.00. The dealership wanted $850.00 - $1,200.00 for just the ECU! I also did the Alternator fix so it won't happen again (check my thread).

Did this only happen to you in the summer? Ours is doing it but only does it during the summer, not in winter.
