Part number(s) for 2002 rear bushing(s) to fix squeaks?
Part number(s) for 2002 rear bushing(s) to fix squeaks?
My 2001 Civic EX Coupe has the dreaded rear squeak.
Thought I'd tackle the replacement myself for the fun of it.
What are the exact bushing(s) that need to be replaced? After searching this place for an hour all I can come up with are the "rear bushings" go bad. Strut, control arm, sway bar end link, what is it?
Also, found the TSB is # 02-070 @ http://www.alldata.com/ but that dosen't help much.
Thanks.

Found the TSB write up. Here's the PDF

If the hotlink dosen't work, just type the NHTSA Item Number:
10001625 @ http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr.../tsbsearch.cfm
What's causing the squeaking is "The rubber that covers the metal stop ring on the lower front bushing of the rear knuckle has worn away or deteriorated. This causes metal-to-metal contact with the rear knuckle".
Wonder what my odds are of the local Honda shop giving me the parts? Slim to none eh?

Also try just greasing the rear swaybar tie rod end leaks. Mine were squeaking like crazy after winter, and greasing them worked.
