Stabilizer Bars
How good are the OEM front and rear stabalizer bars? I've just noticed that my 2001 civic sedan does't have one on the rear.
Do you think fitting an OEM rear stabalizer bar through Honda will help make my car more stable and how much do you think one would cost at a Honda service center?

don't get an OEM bar, just go to one of the RSX websites and post something wanting a new rear sway bar from an RSX-S and they fit perfect and do alot more than the OEM one, and you can find it for really really cheap!!!

The 2001 LX's and DX's don't have any mounting points for a rear stabilizer bar. You'll need to buy a mounting kit. Progress makes one. You can get it at: www.ptuning.com You could also just make a mounting point that mimics the OEM one on stabilizer bar equiped civics and weld two of them on to the rear lower control arms. That works too, but it's harder than simply buying a mounting kit.
When you have the mounting point problem solved you should look into buying an aftermarket rear sway bar. I would get the Progress rear sway bar with tie bar, but I'm partial since that's what I have. I would maybe consider the Hotchkis one. The RSX one is a cheap alternative. There's a ton of options, search the forum. A stabilizer bar is also called a sway bar or an anti-roll bar.

I just don't understand how Honda messed up big time with the suspension on the 2001 Civic. I recon it's one of the worst cars in it's class for sway and body roll without major mods.
