I just installed a set of H&R springs on my 02 EX and there is a loud popping noise coming from the front when I turn the wheel. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

1) check the top nut under the hood that holds the whole strut in place. might not be tightened all the way
2) the top perch wasnt aligned right
3) spring isolators werent used..

I just got my H & R springs installed two weeks ago and was doing the same thing so I called H&R and the techy there told me to tell
the mechanic that the reason why the noise happens is because the springs are not in the right position the whole set up needs to be aligned top to bottom and needed to be tightened from the top by a tork wrench.

If your spring is placed improperly in the slot, when you turn your
steering wheel the spring itself would also turn creating the popping noise. It might be that the spring was not off by much in terms of where it is suppose to sit so after a few turns the spring might have popped in place. But in the next little while go to the local mall parking lot and do slow erratic turns turning the wheel almost all the way to see if the noise is still there. The noise for my car only happens when I crank the steering wheel more than half way at a slow speed. My problem was solved when the spring was taken out by the mechanic and reinstalled again properly aligning it from top to bottom.

There was another posting on the same problem and it said something about the alignment of the strut and the spring. When putting everything back together the strut was not matching up. I went out and took it apart and looked at how it was aligned and could see right away the problem. Now it has stopped pulling and I have no loud popping.
