I just want to say thanks for this great D.I.Y.
It was easy to do with your advices (stand on
the drum, etc.) W/ the Neuspeed sport, I did not
need a spring compressor, only both of my hands.

hi there, just got my lowering springs installed and i am getting these all sorts of noises from the front when i am turning. Do u think they didnt align the strut properly is that why is making the noises. I was also told it should go away after couple of days it needs time to settle in. Also whatz ur take on gettin a alignment done right away. Lot of people told me wait like 2-3 weeks till the springs settle in then get an alignment done. Can some tell me what to do. Thanks,

when you turn at low speed, the strut, top bearing and mount are
not align properly. (the upper mount act like a pivot when it is not index
properly, that's why you ear the poping sound)
You can lift the front of the car and remove the
complete struts assembly to be sure... It's easy to do (no need to
undo the stack) just unbolt the 3 upper mount bolts, 2 strut bolt
(where the front camber goes), brake hose bolt and tie rods. Read
the do it yourself if you want.

Rep Power: 0 this is a great DIY but it doesn't go into actually installing the springs on the struts. My instructions talk about cutting the perch and all sorts of other things.

Rep Power: 0 yo i tried following your DIY, and everything was fine with the front springs, went like cake. but the rear drivers side control arm bolt WOULDNT MOVE. i cannot stress this enough, it simply would not move. the impact gun, big azz torque wrenches, massive amounts of man power, nothing moved it. if you or anyone else had this problem, please tell me how you resolved this issue. its looking like my only option is to go to the dealership and get them to replace it.

Rep Power: 294 I encountered that problem with an install i did long ago.. we ended up having to go to a shop to get the bolt drilled out. unfortunately i have no suggestions to offer

Rep Power: 485 i put the handle of my hydraulic jack on the end of my socket wrench to use as a breaker bar... gave me about 2-2.5 feet of leverage. however, you said you used an impact wrench and big *** torque wrenches, so, i dont know.. thats what helped me get that off..

how long should this install usually take for all 4 springs if everything goes as smooth as the instructions????
I just got Eibach Pro-Kit and Im anxious to see if this drop (1") is what I'm really looking for. I've got type-b lip kit on from streetstyler and mad speed bumps here in south florida so I did'nt want to go too low but Im scared pro-kit may not be low enough... I want to eat up that wheel well gap and give the car more of a sport stance...just think i maybe should have gone with sportline...but we shall see.
Oh and sweet DIY man...

Rep Power: 0 just used it.. sort of forgot to not warp my threads on my tie rod... in conclusion.. i have a temporary ghetto rig.. other than that EXCELLENT DIY without this i probably wouldnt have done it.. but it was really simple.. 05 coupe dropped 2 inches, looks AMAZING easy job!
