But, but, but......I wanna
Okay, guys and gals. I need your help. I want to get rims and lower my sedan this spring, but my wife told me rims are okay, but I can't lower the car. She doesn't want to have the car ride rougher and\or harder over bumps, because she has to drive it too, and besides, it's low enough already. Now, before you start flamin' me, telling me I'm whipped, I'll just come out and say it, YES, yes I am whipped. Why I'm asking is, does it make the car ride a little rougher, or can I get away with a small drop (ie. 1-1.5 inches)?

If you get the Eibach Pro Kit then I think you'll be allright. A full coilover will actually give you a better ride than stock, but it's bling bling. Regular coilovers are the worst for ride quality. At least this is what I hear.

Thanks Grey. Unfortunately, I don't have the bling to pull off that kind of kit. And I won't be able to any time soon. Do you know if any of the lowering springs, ie goldlines etc., have a rougher ride. Or does it seem like I'll be ridin' high in my civic?

I'm not sure, but I think springs alone are a better option than coilovers like Ground Controls. I would get the Eibach Pro Kit. I don't know anything about Goldlines besides the fact that they're cheap. It seems like you're hunting for comforting words though. You know as well as we do that basically anything you do to drop the car (without using true coilovers) will result in a harsher ride.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I'm looking for someone to tell me something that really isn't possible. No matter how I drop my car, it's gonna be a harsher ride. Well then, I guess I'm gonna have to stick with the 16" rims as opposed to the 18's. That way it won't look as stupid with my car way up in the air. Oh well, I guess that's the price for being married. Not that I'm saying my wife is a nag. I love her, but sometimes she just doesn't get this hobby. *sigh* Oh well, time to go rim shopping. Thanks for the advice Grey.

No problem. Oh yeah, if you're getting 16's you might as well get ones that are light and have a racing look. I like the Rota Group-N. Although I hear that they don't come in 16's.

I think that the bigger rims with lower profile tire would effect the ride quality a lot more than the Eibach Pro-kit. I had the Eibach Pro-kit and I couldn't tell a difference from stock, but then again it didn't drop it much either.

I was thinking Konig Rated-R's. I don't know why, there's just something about the 6-spoke wheels that I love.
