NFG with a Question
Hi there all. I'm new to the forum. I've been trying to find a site like this for a while and just kinda stumbled into this. I have a 98 Civic LX, yeah, yeah, I know..."an LX?!". Hey, give me a break. It was all I could afford at the time. I've finally gotten financially set to where I can start to kit the car out. I recently bought 205/40/zr17 with rims and I have purchased a set of Eibach Pro Kit Springs. I'm going to put on on Weds. My question is this........Do I need to get a Camber kit? I talked to someone at my local speed shop here in SouthBay and he told me with the drop I'm going to get (1-1.5") I won't need it. However, the shop where I purchased the kit said that I'll need to let the springs settle in a week or two and then have my alignment re-done. From there they can tell me whether or not I'll need a Camber kit. If it turns out I do need one I have my eye on set of Skunk2 adjustables. Has anyone heard about the Skunk2's? The set the shop has runs for $220. Is this a good deal?
Thanks, all your inputs would be a great help.

nfg??
s'all good i got an LX too.. eibach prokit? you call that a drop? haha.. not too familiar with 6thgens but with 7thgens you dont need a camber kit with the prokit. and why get it re-aligned? just get the alignment after it settles. oh and IF you do need a camber kit(which i doubt), its easy for the 6thgens..
all you need to buy are washer, bolts and thread locking compound.. your rear camber is mounted horizontally, adding washers will give you that extra positive camber. so ya you wont even have to buy the $220 camber kit, just like $20 at a local hardware store..

VNlilMAN- Thanks for the input. I'll see what happens after I get the springs in. Like I said, I'll wait a week and then take it in. Yeah, I know......not much of a drop. But, I just wanted to eliminate some of the gap without having to roll the fenders and such. Who knows, if I really hate it I'll just upgrade to a 2-2.5". I just didn't want my stuff to be rubbing against the wheel-well on bumps and stuff. Plus, I wanted a more comfortable ride.....I'm really too old to race.
NFG- New f***ing Guy.....Ha Ha
By the way......what is 6th and 7th Gen?

Weeellllll, I'm throughly confused at this point. The guys at the shop say I don't need a camber kit but to get one "just in case". My friend who has a 95 Integra (dropped 2.25") said that with the drop I'm getting I don't need one. Now, my other friend who has a 2000 EX (dropped 2.5") said to get one because if you lower the car even 1" you throw the camber off by -.75 (?) degrees which means new tires in a shorter period of time.........hmmmm, now I don't know what to do.
Can anyone give me the straight scuttlebutt?
Thanks

Sorry, I just had another question to ask......if I do get the camber kit, who do you recommend to install it? Would it be the guys at the shop where I'm getting my springs done or do you recommend taking it to an alignment shop that specializes in lowered cars?I live in Chula Vista so can any SoCal members recommend someone here in the SouthBay?
Thanks

for the rear just use metal washers and new bolt.. not sure about the front.. you can DIY its not too hard..
and it also varies by the car... 7thgencivics might not need it for a 1.3" drop but a 6thgencivic might..
i heard pann auto(?) in daygo does good installs... check the socal section, they should be able to help you out..
