New springs!!

just got my springs put on. I'm noticing a squeaking/popping noise though?? Is that normal? I know they haven't been on very long and maybe they have to be broken in or something?? Its just annoying. If this has happened to any of you let me know what you did to get rid of it or if I should just wait a while and see what happens??

I am no expert on springs but that sounds like they were installed correctly. Did you make sure that the springs were lined up right on the struts?

I haven't noticed the metal on metal sound yet really. On bumpy roads I do hear something then too!! I don't know if it is metal on metal but it makes some more popping and other stuff. Mainly I hear it when I'm turning. Should the springs be more compressed towards the bottomof the spring? Well thanx

Did you install the springs yourself and what brand are they? My Eibach Sportlines came with spring isolators(a clear rubber hose about a foot long thats on the coils) that help eliminate noise from the coils rubbing against each other. There is a certain way that the springs and struts must be installed. If the person who took them out didnt index them correctly and thus installed them differently from how they originally came out, you might get these types of problems. Also if the spring isnt seated properly in both perches you can get weird noises.

No I didn't install them myself. They are neuspeed sports!! I had a local shop here install them for me. So I frankly have no idea whehter they are aligned or what???? Is there anyway for me to check now so that I will have an argument taking them back up there to have them done correctly?? And no I didn't receive anything with my springs to help reduce the noise and all that stuff..Its weird because sometimes I hear it and sometimes I don't. I even notice more noise in just my steering it seems like. Not even moving when I turn my steering wheel, it seems like I hear more noises than before I installed the springss...???/ Help

well it might just be the springs settling in. everytime i got in my car, it made a 'pinging' noise. did this for almost a month
ya the bottoms supposed to be more compressed..
if anything just take it back to the shop and tell them that its making those noises.. a noisy suspension isnt normal(besides the settling in)

i think eibach prokits are the only ones that come with spring isolators. not even sure if the sportlines do. but ya they should have came with your stock springs, mine didnt

yeah well I've only had my springs on for a few days now and if you said that they have to "set in" then I guess I'll just wait a little longer and see if the noise persists. The fact that sometimes if makes the noise and sometimes it doesn't makes me think that maybe it WILL go away with time. I'll keep my fingers crossed
