Lowering Springs

Wassup people. I just got an 03 Civic Ex coupe 5 speed and wanted ur opinions on what kinda spring i should get. I like the Si rims that are on the car so i want to drop it wit those rims. I want to know if Skunk2's or Eibach Sportlines would give me a better ride and which one would pretty much cover the fender gap. And if i decide to get a lip for the front sides and rear would 2.5" be to low? Also would i need a camber kit wit n e of these springs?

Springs are definitely a better ride than coilovers... thus the Sportlines win there.

Skunk2s are adjustable so you can pretty much bottom out the car if you wanted.

2.5 would be quite low... I don't own a body kit on my car so I can't say for sure. IMO, I'd think so... you probably couldn't even slip your foot under the front bumper depending on the kit. Reminded me of my friend who had a Razzi body kit.

Hey, you live in San Lorenzo? Ever heard of BA7Genz?. Check us out, including the forums. I have a friend with a red coupe there with a body kit on his car that is lowered on white rims. Ever seen it around? He's got a TrapSpeed windshield banner on his car I think.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and the camber kit. Get one. If you like your tires, then get a camber kit for the rear... unless you don't mind replacing tires often. I personally wouldn't bother getting a camber kit for the front.

So you from the Bay Area to? I have heard of trapspeed. I know a couple of folks on that team. Like Jackie, Marjo and a couple of other folks. And bout the skunk2's they have both the coilover and lowering springs. So i was wonderin if Skunk2's have a better ride then Sportlines. I had sportlines before and they were a smooth ride but i wanted to know if the skunk2's srpings would also be a nice ride cuz they give me a lower drop.

sportlines are going to give you a better ride, mainly because look at the drop. your comparing a 1.75" to a 2.5". sportlines are sport springs and skunk2s are probably race springs which are stiffer. obviously since skunk2s are a lower drop, its going to cover the gap more... for alot of people it's going to be too low with a front lip tho. i always recommended a 1.75" for those with a kit and 2.25" for those without a kit. i have seen people who were happy with a 2.25" drop and a kit tho, maybe your one of those people. with that amount of drop, i recommend you get new shocks(cause of the bad ride and risk of blowing shocks fairly soon) and a camber kit is a must. you probably will have to roll your fenders a little bit and might have to keep a slight negative camber so that you dont hit the fender lip. it should look nice tho.

Hey I am not new on the forums.. I just got a new name because for some odd reason the password wasn't working for my old name NiKi.
::sigh:: In any case I would suggest you for the H&R sportline springs if you are look for a little drop and basically a better than stock ride. I had mines on for a month, but since I wanted to go lower I took them off and now currently I am going to attempt to sell them. They are amazing, and yes even with STOCK shocks My civic is now currently sitting on STOCK shocks and GROUND CONTROL COIL OVERS. I cannot say the ride is bad, it's quite nice for coilovers and the drop is amazingly nice. It actually tucks "rim" for shows.
