I was wondering the same thing about it, I know a few members have them in their cars and was wondering if it was worth it.
How does it fit as well, because it just bolts on to the seatbelt bolts. Any mods need to make this fit, ect ....

Give me the low down here guys.

I have the Racing Sports Akimoto Bar in my 2001 EX Coupe. Purchased from Summit Racing online. Installation is easy and it seems to stiffen up the body torsionally but I have so many other suspension/bracing components installed that it's hard to pinpoint its actual effect. No mods necessary to install. Just need to unbolt the seat belt hoops just above the floor and mount them over the mounts for the floor bar.

Mine is straight with no bends and is highly polished.

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I have the AROSPEED bar in my car, it didn't fit right so I had to drill a another hole and also mount it behind the plastic in my car right up against the flat metal, then I had to cut the plastic. Now thats its installed it looks good, as far as performance I think it helped a little, mostly coming out of a curve it didn't want to keep turning.. i have so many other strut bars, etc. its hard to tell exactly how much it helped... I got mine for $75 so I figured why not...

Damm, you had to cut the interior for that.
Thats what I was curious about with the bar, but I wasnt sure.
If you have any pics of the final install can you post a few of them up for us to see, I am not sure I want to go cutting my interior all that much.

Thanks

RS Akimoto floor bar can be found by visiting Summit Racing's web site and entering AVC-20840 in product# field.

Just tried it and found what you guys/gals are looking for.

How much did you pay for your RS Akimoto monkey bar? Its almost $300. I can get a custom 6 point cage for that price.

Whatever the price that's listed on the website is what I paid. I don't see the point in putting in a roll cage considering we're not exactly driving race cars (w/ the exception of some of these turbo-charged 7th Gen's).
