The drilling isn't that bad really... The 2002's have a hole in that location, so it's not like you'de be doing something that would harm the chassis. Tapping isn't that bad either. If you don't have the proper tools for drilling, then you shouldn't start this little project. Hell, if I had an extra long drill bit of the right size, then it would be much much easier. Simply snake it through from the top and drill out the hole. Piece of cake.

I'm not sure if a tie bar does the same thing. Well, actually... It doesn't. It ties together a different part of the chassis, so it eliminates flex in a different spot. I'll eventually get a front tie bar, so I'm planning to have both. I doubt that I'll be able to feel the front tie bar as much as I did this thing; simply because Honda chose to put it on the 2002's. They saw a problem with the 2001's and they fixed it.

It looks to me like there are two versions of this bar. One is for the automatics and one is for the manual transmission vehicles. I ordered the Front Sub-Frame from a 2002 EX Coupe for my 2001 EX Coupe.

The bent bar is designed for the Manual transmission cars and the straight bar is for the Automatic transmission cars according to http:www.hondaautomotiveparts.com.

I did. Couldn't be bothered with the second hole. But already I could feel the ride improvement with just one bolt per side. Some of my friends are dead certain this has more gains than the upper front strut bar of any make ! Furthermore, Honda can't go wrong with this one.
