Problems w/Ractive

Is anyone else besides myself having problems with their strut tower bars? Everytime I order them, they dont fit . Know of any other strut tower bars around that price? No sense to spend 150 for DC Sports verse 32 for Ractive when they do the same thing, you just pay for the name. Thanks.....

No, you don't quite "just pay for the name". You pay for the material and R&D. Granted DC is overpriced, you might just go with Neuspeed or Tenzo if you don't need the clearance, and get a good quality bar.

Those no-name bars (I consider Ractive no-name inline with those Type-R ones) have a reputation of bending/snapping under pressure. I don't think anyone on here has experienced that yet (don't think many ppl here would use those no-names for racing or track, and they might hold up for normal driving conditions) but IMO I won't put a $30 mod in my engine bay.

yeah i guess thats true... i just dont know how much longer i am goin to keep the car, but the handling SUCKS - i've gone to the track twice w/my car and thats all i plan on, so i would really use it for everyday driving more than anything. i just dont feel like paying 100+ for the dam things, but i guess i'm gonna have to..what u would use neuspeed or tenzo? (i deal w/ractive cuz i can get it all at cost which is like nothing) thanks for the info

The Tenzo bar is quite sturdy (moreso than the Neuspeed), as I've seen it in person, and I think is cheaper than the Neuspeed. Get Neuspeed if you want to get an intake eventually.

Also, you want to find out where in the handling you want to improve. Mods that affect handling: spring&shock, front strut bar, rear sway, rear upper strut bar, rear tie bar. All with different results...

Some people claim the sway bars do the most to neutralize the turns, so for that price a RSX sway bar might be what you want...

Myself I'd need a Neuspeed coz of the Injen CAI, but I wouldn't mind a DC for the looks.
