Hydrolics?

Ok, I'v been thinking this over for a long time now. I want to have my car low, but i cant keep it dropped for over 3 minutes without hitting a bad bump where i live. I thought about getting airbags, but i heard the pop easily. so now I'm thinking about hydrolics. Does anyone have a car with hydros, or does anyone know exactly what all parts i would have to buy? I know i need another battery, and my friend said i need another alternator. I dont know if going through all the hassel of getting hydros would be better than getting airbags. can someone give me some info on both hydros and airbags, like the differences in cost, ride, and quality? thanx

Go with the airbags. I think they will work better.

i have seen a 2k1 civic with hydros and it looks tight the only problem is if you want to have hydros you need to reinforce your chassis which adds weight plus the hydros are oil based which is messy i have done a lot of hydros in my 17 years and know about them so im your man if you want to know about hydros

Look in the suspension forum. There are a few threads on airbags. I know I posted a couple. Just don't get hydros your car will ride like ****. Go with airrods with accumulators not airbags for a smoother ride.

I wouldnt get the Hydro's, go with the bags. I am planning this for my suspension upgrades next year. We have a member that is using his car as the prototype for an air bag system and it should be out soon. But in the end it will be better for the ride plus you wont need to put much more stress on the engine with another alternator. I dont think the bag's will pop too easily either, hell transport trucks have been using them for years.

Good Luck man.

Yeah definitely go with the airbags. You should be straight, if not then make sure you get some kind of warranty with them.

not really man hydros could give you a good ride if installed correct if the ride is a issue than airbags wont be much better

ya i've heard hydros mess up alot too, n bags dont pop that easily... bags are used in trucks and they weigh tons. you could also use air rods on our car(infact those are prefered), these are metal so no they wont pop

in my opinion hydros on a civic looks goofy, go with bags if you want to spend taht much and add all the wiehgt of the compressors, or just get some good coilovers...
