When I buy my groundcontrol coilovers, would i need to buy shocks right away? Or can i drive with my stock shocks for a while, like a year. I know that it's better to have it, but i just want to know if it is really necessary. Also, when you first put on the coilovers, is there a difference in the ride? I heard that some coilovers make squeeky sounds. Please reply, thanks.

it mainly depends on how low you drop it. and they are coilovers so they'll most likely blow before springs(if you were to compare them at the same height). the ride, i heard it sucked with stock shocks. if you drop 2" i doubt you'll last a year.. maybe 6 months. but ya you would have to pay for installation again. if you do decide to get shocks now, just get true coilovers. ground control + konis = 850 and thats without installation. i heard installation for konis were 200. so thats 1050 already... you could get true coilovers with that.

but ya bottom line, depends on how low you drop it and hard you drive with it..

I've had ground controls on my car since march of last year, and I'm still cruzin' on stock shocks. They should be gone by end of this summer though. I ended up droppin' my car just about 2 inches all around.
At first, while they settle in at least, you will probably hear some squeeky noises. I heard them in the back. They went away after a few weeks. No problems since then though. If your from Chicago, like I am, the only thing you would need to worry about is flyin' thru potholes.

I would probably stay with stocks as long as possible. Especially if the car is fairly new. Your stock shocks will hold for a while. There is no need for you to spend the extra money yet.
