Memory Steer
Memory Steer
So I did my suspension on my 2001 Civic EX with this groups help in the following post https://www.civicforums.com/forums/4...-job-list.html.
In short I did struts and springs front and rear (Tokico Blues with Eibach ProKit), ball joints, outer tie rod ends, and LCA Bushings. After getting it aligned now I have memory steer.
symptom: pull to the right.... take left u turn, hear 3 soft pops and it is corrected. Soft pops apear to come from left side of car, but can not reproduce in driveway to positively confirm, take right turn, no pops are heard, symptom returns.
The pops are somewhat intermittent too. I have taken both front stuts apart a second time and confirmed everything lines up, nothing is cracked, repacked the plastic bearings, but the problem remains.
I had the alignment done at Firestone, and they believe it is the steering gear (rack and pinion). Since it didn't do this before the work I did I am skeptical of that diagnosis though.
Any ideas before I try another alignment shop?
Thanks,
Alon

Re: Memory Steer
assuming everything was installed correctly and you also swapped out the little rubber mounts on the springs i would start by taking a peek at your axle's
