alignment problems

whats the reason for my car to lose its alignment?

the car does not wander and goes straight.
its just the steering wheel is off center

i've gotten a aignment 3 months ago and it was perfect.

been driving it everyday and nobody else touched my car, now my steering wheel is off centered again

Re: alignment problems

check the tire pressure? did you rotate the tires after the alignment? i'm definitely no expert on suspension but 3 months might give it enough time to get off center again depending on the age of your parts...

Re: alignment problems

are you driving on alot of bumpy, snowy roads? that can really throw things off with the suspension.

Re: alignment problems

Tire pressure as Couped said. Check tire wear on all sides and make sure that front L/R are even and rear L/R are even. Are your tires new or used? Because my car is doing the same thing. I took it in for an alignment, and there was no change. This is the same person who aligned my stuff when I got new tires years ago, and when he did it that time the alignment was perfect and stayed perfect for years. It just proves that the alignment isn't the problem on mine. Could be dragging brakes as well, shrug.

Re: alignment problems

tie rod ends, you would hear nasty clunking sound when turning, like something is about to fall apart (which is possible actually lol, almost happened to me).

Re: alignment problems

I had a car once (mustang, not a honda) that kept getting out of alignment fast because of a bad ball joint. Replaced the ball joint, problem stopped. Might be worth a look...

Re: alignment problems

I have the same problem on mine, not matter how many times I do an alignment the car still pulls to the right. After getting new tires and no change ive given up.

Re: alignment problems

But yeah like the other member said, do you live down a dirt road, or drive over a lot of bumps all the time? That shortens the lifespan of an allignment, and it will need to be redone sooner.

Re: alignment problems

I can drive away from the alignment shop with a sheet of paper saying everything is in the green and it still pulls. I even took it back to 1 shop 3 times and they couldnt figure it out.

Re: alignment problems

I dunno bout the other guy but I have new ES bushings and new tires. Comming soon is shocks and springs so if that doesnt do it ..... I dunno. My shifter and alignment are the only 2 things I absolutly hate about this car.

Re: alignment problems

it had the problem when my car was on stock springs and suspension. so i lowered it with eibach pro kit, and with stock shocks 3 months ago.

the car doesn't pull, it goes straight,

theres no popping sounds or binding sounds. everything seems normal.

just the steering is off centered.

i can adjust the tie rod length from the left side and taht will make the steering back to normal, but after couple of months, it will go out again.
