okay so correct me if im wrong....the kyb gr2 is basically the same as the tokico illuminas right? Both are slightly stiffer than oem shocks yet not as tough as the spec D or agx. I have the gr2s on right now and next month ill be droping the car 1.8 all around. Im worried that the shocks may blow due to the large drop. BUT tokico is selling a combo (illuminas w/ springs that give a 1.75 drop) on hopupracing.com (http://www.hopupracing.com/toilse1dradh5.html). So if both shocks are similar then my ride may be able to handle the 1.8 drop?

Nothing below 2 inches. 1.8 will be a bit rough but drive sensibly. I've blown konis with a 1.75 inch drop just due to the poor NJ/NY roads. They will last a long time if you avoid huge pot holes.

Re: GR2 VS Illuminas
gr2 is an OEM replacement and is maybe a little better than OEM but not much. illuminas are probably better than the gr2s based on their minimal adjustabiility. AGX is good for a decent drop (1"-1.8")but not a major one. Then comes the D-Spec..you can slam the car on these and they are infinitely adjustable....i ****in' love them!
