I just installed the ES motor mount insert, only in the front so far because the rear wouldn't fit.(looks like everyone has had that prob and said to shave them). Anyways, my car vibrates like crazy now, espec with A/C on, the front mount was torn, will the vibration get less after I replace that? or after the inserts break in a little maybe? Or is there something that maybe wrong with my engine that would make it vibrate more?

Thats normal.... mine did the samething... really bad vibration with a torn mount and ES bushings...i replaced the mount and put the ES bushings back in and got a slightly less vibration.... I have the ES bushings front mount and rear with the Ingalls stiffy... again that just made the vibration slightly less... either way ur gonna get vibration...

you'll get used to the vibration. I did on mine.

I have the front ES with torn mount. The vibration isnt that bad when the car is moving.
But starts from a dead stop, the dash rattles, i need to give more gas than I used to.

i also have the front ES inserts on torn oem mount. first time they were noticable driving around and had some vibration but nothing crazy. when the car is moving, no vibration. at a stop, car would rumble a bit and make boom noises. now about a month later, i almost forget theyre installed. i think because i have an auto trans, and the mount is shared, it absorbs most of the vibration. right now it almost feels like stock again.

Installed mine 2 weeks ago, at a stop with AC on the dash vibrates so hard it looks like my cds will come out of it. Still waiting for the good ol break in.

just keep driving lol. it will def get a bit better than what it is now. when i first installed mine my mom asked why the car was shaking. the last time she rode in the car she didnt say anything. it shakes about as much as our old stock accord now.

I had the same problem with the inserts front fits rear doesn't.
I could not get used to the shaking so I removed them en installed the Stiffy Ingalls much better and no shaking.

I had also that my screws fall out of the dash of the shaking.

do you have auto or manual? starting to look like autos are better with ES insert, and manual with stiffy.

Mine's a manual. It seems like the vibration has gone down some after a few days of good hard driving. It does still vibrate alot at a dead stop with A/C on, more so in the afternoon when it's hot and the A/C's on cold. But like you said, nothing when driving. Bumps are definitely a lot quieter now, and more hop off the line.

what are the advatnages of es mount compared to OEM?

it wont break every year, prolly will outlast the car, more power since there is less engine movement, less wheel hop, better accel, less vibration while moving, etc.

ES motor mounts are out of the question for the daily driver. I don't even recommend window weld on the stock mounts. I had my rear mount filed with the stuff, and stock feels so much better now that I removed it. Even just the rear mount caused the car to vibrate slightly more than stock, but when I turned on the A/C, it vibrated a lot more.

I just don't understand this mod for a daily driver. What's the point, elimination of wheel hop? That's stupid because how often does that happen? And if you're going to say engine/trany movement, that's almost a non-issue. Stock feels good and I wouldn't settle for anything harder.

It probably not an issue for 6th gen civic. Almost all the 7th gen have broken front motor mount problem. If it was replaced with OEM mount, it probably wont even last for a year. Thats why people choose the ES inserts rather than the OEM mount.

However, if u are looking for an comfort ride, ES definitely not an solution for you. Just replace the mounts whenever it is broken.

yeah the front mount breaks all the time. some people here went thru a mount every few months. my car feels just like stock with the front es inserts. id say in my case this is more of a daily driver mod than a stupid loud exhaust im getting tired of hearing. but if you have bad shaking then yeah maybe the es mounts are not a good idea. i had the stiffy and my car shook worse than anything and i had to take it off. others who tried it say it doesnt shake at all so idk, maybe it depends on the car and trans type.

I have around 75k miles on the vic and I'm still using the original motor mount. After reading the forums here I did a thorough inspection of it (what I consider thorough anyway), and could not find any breaks. I'm going to try the insert though, maybe keep the mount alive for as long as possible and see how badly it shakes.

does anyone have updates how their front mount is breaking in? i put on some more miles and can barely feel it. unless i have the a/c on, it feels stock. and even with a/c i only feel occassional vibrations in the seat and car. shifting to neutral completely stops any vibes.

The vibration is normal but it shouldnt be to much. It is a great mod to have, I have them in my ep3 and I like them. It doesnt vibrate to bad unless the ac is on but still isnt to bad. The only thing with the 7th gen si you have to have this if you get a race header.
