Need helo from anyone who owns any Tein Full-Coilovers
Need helo from anyone who owns any Tein Full-Coilovers
I aquired a set of Tein SS-P, so it has the pillow ball mounts the front
I got them at a good price seeing a shop need them gone....well I came home to find out why...
the front is all complete but
the rear of shock is missing
something which I was warned about...it is missing the rear spring mount which came with the Tein SS-P and the Tein Flex..
so my question is, could it be possible to use the stock rear spring mount?
for clarification doesnt the Tein Basic use the stock rear spring mount or does it also come with a rear spring mount for the Tein Basic...
if you have any other options, please feel free to share...
Thanks

You are talking about the rear stock top hat (the part that goes into the trunk)? Yes you can use, in fact, Tein SS requires that you use it.

anyone know if you had to use your stock piece like the nuts?
or did Tein provide you with anything special to adapt it to the stock mount?

your rears should have came with the rear top mounts. The ss-p's are supposed to come with mounts, and require nothing from the stock suspension.
Did you buy your suspension from a retailer?? if so, I'd go back there, and demand the rear top mounts from Tein.

I have the tein ss-p's and I didn't use anything from my stock suspension.
Here are the instructions for the SS-P's

The shop told him that the coilovers they sold him didn't have the rear mounts.

Hummmm here is an idea i had kicking in my mind...seeing how that Tein whats about 500 for the rear pillow ball mounts...
So could i just get some OEM rear mounts, modify the boot on it and then mount my rear coilover as a temp...
I ask this cause i read all the instructions and dont see much of a difference with how all Tein coilovers are assembled minus the fact the flex and ss-p have there own rear mounts.
what do you think?

Why not just pull apart your stock rear mounts? It is just one nut.
