Best Spring Rates
I am going to stiffen up the rear end a bit for autox season. Right now I have 336 lbs/in in the front and 448 lbs/in in the rear. I was going to keep the front a bit soft by keeping the 336 on, but go with either 504 lbs/in or 560 lbs/in. I really can't decide between the two
. I figure if the 560s cause to much oversteer and make the car unpredictable I could always swap the 448s that were on the rear up to the front so I would be running 448 in the front and 560 in the rear
(assuming that the fronts and the rear are the same, which I am pretty sure they are). Has anyone messed with spring rates on our cars?? Keep in mind that I have a K20, so the front may be a bit heavier than stock. Overall options are:
336 front/448 rear Current setup

336 front/560 rear
448 front/560 rear (if the above setup is to unstable and assuming that the front and rear springs are the same)

those are goofy numbers.... is that round numbers in kg/mm?
Anyways, depending on how courageous you are.... 336/560 would be fine, more *****, if you really want that thing to rotate (and you can drive).... go for something like 700.

Yes those are round numbers in kg/mm, 336 is 6.0 and 560 is 10.0. I think I will try the 336 and 560 and see how that is, I just don't want the car to be insanely unpredictable. I actually have had the sway bar on backwards for the past couple of years which was binding the A-arms and really not allowing the suspension to compress (probabally like having 700s on the back LOL), the car handled well, but was just a bit to unpredictable at times. I turned the sway bar around and it just is not handling the same, so I figured it was time for some stiffer rear springs. Do you know if the rear and front springs are the same diameter and length??

with coilovers you need a length, a coil diameter (its the inner diameter, measure the collar) and a spring rate. Thats it.

btw, what kinda struts are you running? i'd up the fronts up to the 448 and the rears to about 600 with a 22mm sway in the rear.
as of my setup, currently running 550F/900R with 15mm in front, 22mm in rear and it turns real nicely.
