Reviews on bilstein shocks?

I know EX4DR wrote up a review for the Bilstein shocks, but this was a year ago. No one else has talkked about them since... So has anyone else gave these a shot? If so what is your opinion on them. Also let us know what springs you paired them up with. I know someone has given in and bought these!

No one? Not a single person has bought these besides EX4DR? Has anyone even thought about getting these? I wouldnt see why not. Bilstein is one of the top brand shocks out there. Compared to the koni yellows these are just slightly more expensive but you also dont have to cut and fit like you do the konis. Whats keeping you guys from buying them?

i had bilstein on my EK. Dropped it on eibach sportline. Absolutely loved them. Ride was real smooth. Felt like factory. But if you looking for a stiff ride. Than I dunno. I would recommend if ur looking for the factory feel

It's been a bit over 10 months and over 20K miles on it now and I'm still in love with these shocks. Ride is smooth, well dampened, and confidence inspiring. I would say this is the best upgrade for the mean streets after my wheels and tires. Since I don't need adjustibility nor the hassel of it, these fit the bill perferctly. Unless you track your car on a regular basis, adjustibility is just a nice sounding feature. For most people, once the shocks are dialed in, they will almost never need to be adjusted again. If the shocks are dialed in "perfectly" from the factory (as the Bilsteins are), it's one less issue to deal with.

I think the price disparity is what keeps more people from getting them. >$700 for shocks with no adjustability is a lot to swallow. You could get other brands with full ajustability and spring or even full coilover for this price. I can certainly appreciate the Bilstein's less than popular choice. For me, I have zero regret. If I track the car, I would probably consider a full coilover, but then again, if I want to track, I would get myself a true sports car to do it with. As I had stated before, my Civic is my commuter car and the purpose of the various upgrades are to increase the street performance and safety of the it. Nothing more.

Thanks to those who actually gave me their opinions on the shocks instead of just naming what i "should" get. EX4DR: good to hear you are still loving the choice you made in buying these. I was looking for your thoughts on this the most since i knew you had been on them for almost a year. Are you still on stock springs though? Yes the Konis are great shocks, but i just dont feel like cutting into my stock struts and doing all this extra work for nothing. All i am wanting is a good comfortable ride on the long trips and still get great street handling. This car will probably never see track conditions, just the occasional strip and driven somewhat hard out on the roads. Some sportlines are also what i will be running with these. So silvercivic if you have some pictures of your car on this set up i would love to see what it looks like. Thanks again and if anyone else has bought these let me know what you think of them.

Yes. Personally, I feel the rear OEM spring is a bit too stiff. Even with the Bilsteins, the back still bounces a bit on rutted roads. When loaded with with about 200 lbs, it handles perfectly, but then acceleration suffers. Well, you can have everyting I guess.

i'm also looking for shocks for my civic. 3.5yrs after lowering my car with sportlines on stock shocks, i've pretty much wore them out. we just had a couple of days of cold winter weather and when i drove my car, the snow turned ice scraped the bottom of car. it felt like rocks scraping the bottom.
so i decided to go back to stock springs and now i'm shopping around for shocks.

I want a direct replacement and i think Tokico has a set and now Bilstein came out with theirs over a year ago.

Tokico's are cheaper than Bilsteins but since i plan to keep my car for long time i have decided to go with the Bilsteins for there quality and reliability.

EX4DR !! I checked out shockwarehouse.com and i found the prices different than what you posted in your previous posts. they are charging 259.35 for each of the shocks; doesn't matter if its the rear or front. so for the full set they want 1037.40. thats a big difference than what you paid, i think it was 699.

i did find another site shox.com and they are selling them for 699 all four.

I'd remembered the fronts were ~$250-ish/each and the rears were ~$100/each. Shox.com's $699 seems about right.
