rsx type r sway bar!
i've been interested in purchasing the progress sway bars but have heard some people say to just get the rsx rear sway bar. well upon some research i came across this for anyone else who is interested.
IN STOCK! - ON SALE! $89.97 at www.jdmland.com
JDM Honda Factory DC5R/RSXR Rear Sway Bar and Bushings. Originally designed for the Japanese Domestic Market DC5 Type R and the diameter is 22mm which is 3mm bigger than the US RSX Type S.
Comes with the Sway bar and 2 factory Honda 22mm bushings so this is bolt-on simple and you don't need to buy anything else to install.

You mean the handling or the size? i'm pretty sure you mean the handling, but first off the size if a HUGE diff. (just in case thats what you meant). As for the handling, yes the handling is much much greater than over stock. You won't feel as much unless you really like to take your turns. The endlinks are holding up fine, SO FAR, since its only on occasion that i take hard turns. I also installed this sway bar on along with my neuspeed upper strut bar. So if you don't have an upper strut yet, i suggest you get the neuspeed one first.

your going to have to upgrade your endlinks. I would do more research though. just because the sway bar is thicker doesn't mean it'll make your car handle better. You need the right combo. if your staying stock front with the 16mm front sway and your going 22mm rear, its going to make your car oversteer a lot more. Keep in mind if this is what you really want.
I went from a 16mm front with a 19mm rear and it handled pretty well. I switched it to a 25mm front and 19 rear, it didn't handle as well, but its better for daily driving with less body roll.

Technically, there is no RSX Type-R.
The DC5 in the states came with a 19mm rear sway which went up to 21mm in 2006. The DC5R always had the 22mm rear sway.
whoa! progress bars are arent that great?! is that what i am hearing. i'm a step away from ordering the front and rear on ebay, they say they are solid as well, rather than the stock hollow design....... whats the dilly?

civicmandan, the progress bars aren't bad, they just tend to break the stock endlinks. if you get some aftermarket endlinks you should be fine.
bg0218as, the progress front might be too big and make you understeer into everything.

what to do i just found out from a friend who knows this guy who is selling the 19mm rsx rear sway bar with endlinks, mounts, bushings, and all the nuts and bolts needed for $25. should i get that instead of going with the 22mm dc5r rear sway bar. would it be that big of a diff. from 19mm to 22mm
and one other question would the endlinks from an rsx fit an 04 coupe

I would go with the 19mm it will keep you safer incase you do something stupid. If you start autocrossing or going to open tracks you might want to go bigger but a 19mm is a good start. The endlinks are the same so they will fit.

good so i think ill just get the 19mm cause im not into autocrossing or anything like that i just want the car to be more firm and handle better. right now the car rolls to much. so the endlinks will deff. fit my 04 coupe.

sounds great. thanks for the info mr. al gore. i am into autox, so i think i will have to search around and find out what a good balance would be. neuspeed wants a whopping 4 bills for their sway bar. they continue to say that there needs to be some significant support when adding a larger rear swar, therefore both progress and neuspeed incorporate a tie bar with the sway bar. just a little added info. sorry if this seems like im thread jacking. later folks.

Hey guys, I need some help. I am going to install RSX S 19mm w/ bushing on 02 civic ex tomorrow and as i do a search I came accross on a couple threads stating that after they install the sway bar, their cars start making a poppin sound while turning.
Is that true or common or just an installation issue? Any help would be great because i wouldnt want to put somethin on if my ride gonna start makin noise. Thanks.

my guess is a lack of grease on the bushings. it's probably not size related, since many people run a 22mm without much issue.

So, I just installed the RSX-s rear sway bar this weekend. I put as much grease as possible and I tight all the nuts as TIGHT as possible, so tight that i actually broke one of the screw. Anyhow, the car is great in handling and no noise on smooth road but when i start hitting bumpy road, i hear a clanging metal noise, it's like something is hittin in the back of my car. I don't have an exaust or muffler so it shouldnt be that. Maybe because my car is too low since i'm on Tein SS right now?? Is this from the rear sway bar? I'm just so frustrated..need help please
