Why is my TCS exhaust hitting my OEM sway?
Do you guys have any idea as to why my exhaust is hitting my sway bar? Its never done it before.. I put the rsx 22 mm bar on there and of course the exhaust was gonna hit it hard so i removed it and put my oem one back on and now its hitting my exhaust! wtf...

hmm well over time i guess it could move. there isnt much clearance even with the stock bar. i have some thermotec exhaust wrap that would fix it for a while til the vibration eats through it.

ya i have thought about putting some kinda tape on the sway bar to deaden the sound but wasnt sure if that would really help... where could i get something for the bar?

well you could try the wrap, it has to be heat resistant. thermotec makes some, i still have a lil leftover if you want i can send you a piece to see if it works.

older european cars (i work at a vw restoration place) use a braided cloth covered hose for everything. i just got a section of cloth covered breather hose split it in the middle, put it on the bar, and used hose clamps to keep it in place. the wrap that gearbox suggested will work also. you should put the bigger bar back on and wrap that one.
i had same problem when i put my eibach swaybar hitting tcs so i bought havy duity ziptie and tie it up away from the swaybar....been driving like that for almost a year and ziptie is still their...

i have tried doing that and i guess the zip tie wasnt strong enough
Yeah my exhaust hits the rsx bar too. The shop I have been going too just told me to bend in that spot a little. Dont really want to do that, but I cant really picture it making that big of a difference performance wise. I have been thinking about trying tape, but I worry about that causing more vibration. It isnt really that bad though. Any little noise or squeek drives me nuts so always want to get them fixed.
Zip tie is a good idea, it won't melt will it? Would have to find a real heavy duty one though.
Its ghetto but if it works thats all that matters! I am starting to get my dads thinking on cars on how its better not to mod them. Why is it that all these expensive aftermarket parts, are usually poorly made, never fit right, usually dont last as long as oem, and have to use something like zip ties to stop it from making noise.

well, i took my car to a muffler shop, and a dude did a custom exhaust manipulation for me. it works great. i tried useing the rubber hangers, but for me, no way.
btw, injencivic, thats a nice sway bar you got there, I would be hitting that sway bar hard too...
