I'm about to install my rear Koni Yellow/Koni sleeve coilovers and I'm wondering if you guys grease the threads on GC coilovers to make it easier to set ride height? I'm assuming you have to lift the car to adjust them, do you also need to compress the spring? I'm worried about galling the aluminum threads while adjusting them since the spring is preloaded.

You have to lift the car to raise the car because unless you're really strong, you're going to fight the weight of the car to make adjustments. When you jack the car up, the spring leaves the seat, making the seat free from preload... you just have to deal with all the **** that gets caught in the threads preventing you from turning them. I wouldn't grease the threads because you'll make em a dirt magnet.

I'm with ya on the lift the car first part, but the springs won't unseat because they're only 375lb and will be preloaded some even with the shock extended. The preload makes it pretty hard to turn the seat; you'd still go without grease because of the dirt issue?

Mybe just coat them with WD-40, it's not to heavy.

don't lube them with anything its not needed what so ever. There is no preload at all the springs are short. just jack it up loosen the collar, spin, and tighten the collar. your done.

With my teins ss, just jack it up and I use your muscle power to turn wrenches.
Its not that hard...or may be I'm strong.

i never greased mines, and i adjusted them today. Dirt will be there regardless of grease or not, but with the grease...it'll just be gunky. They were pretty easy to adjust, but still had to put a little back into it. haha. But i say you don't have to grease the sleaves...
