I've got about 85K km on my 2002 LX Sedan now, and lately I've noticed the suspension (front, I think?) is really noisy at low speeds on uneven roads. I took it to an independant garage that I have used before and they said they can't find anything wrong per se... but they did tell me Honda had some 'secret warranty' on the some 7th Gen Civic's wrt suspension... Now I think I remember hearing about this before but thought it only affected the first year models (2001), is that correct? Where can I find any documentation of this?

So since I don't have extended warranty, do I have any chance of getting Honda to do anything without a charge? Does anyone have any experience with this w/ Honda Dealers in Ontario/Canada specifically ?

I called Honda to inquire about the problem, they did a VIN check to see if there were any recalls they said there isn't. They'll road test the car they said but I'll have to pay a diagnostic fee.

Are the replacement suspension parts Honda is selling/installing now improved any over the stuff that came with the car?

I guess my other option would be installing aftermarket suspension which alot of the folks on this board seem to have done anyway.... would I be better off to just do this and forget taking it in to Honda?

You have no warranty, and honda owes you nothing. You're going to have to fix it on your own. There was a TSB of known issues, but the dealer coverage was limited to the warranty period. Search, there's lots of these threads.
