**Need Help**
so i just got my oil change done by honda today, and they told me my front struts are leaking.. it'll cost me $790 plus tax to replace.... now the question is should i replace em with factory struts or aftermarket struts? how much am i lookin' at for aftermarket ones? any brands in particular?? my car is currently sitting on a set of H&R Sport Springs.... how much would a decent set of coilovers cost? Now i gotta pull up at least $1000, *sighs*....

i know tokico shocks are around $400 for all around. and i've heard only good things about them. yeah, honda said that one of mine was leaking, and replaced just one, even though apparently they're supposed to replace both front ones (otherwise the car will lean a little).
so, do what i'm planning on doing. buy some aftermarket, or buy oem yourself if that's what you want. and put them on yourself. it's seriously not that hard. just get the spring compressor from autozone (they rent them) i.e: you pay money to rent them, then when you bring them back, they give you your money back. so it ends up being a free rental, as long as you don't go throwing them against the wall and all.

Tokico HP's (The blue ones) would be your best bet if you just want a good dampers for daily driving
Tokico D-Spec would be the next step up twards performance. They are adjustible, but because they adjust both bump and rebound valving at the same time they make for a better street damper then a performance/track damper.
Konis are probably the best performance damper you can buy for the $$$ they only adjust rebound, which is great for tweaking your cars handling, but it has relitivly little effect on ride quality (adjusting bump valving on the D-specs will alter the cars ride quality).
So... If you just want somethign for the street, Tokicos would probably be the best choice. If you want to run your car compeditivly (autocross and open track) then Get Konis.
