Problem Air Ride 50mm/55mm :|
Im gettting an easy street air ride kit from either BIG or the manufacturer. The thing is they only make air ride kits for 01-02 civics ( everything fits except the front) The bags they have for the front struts is 50mm meant for 01-02 civics. What can i do? Do i order 01-02 civic struts and drill the 14mm whole to 16mm and drive with that? I heard theres a risk if you hit a pothole or something that bolt can come out. What are my options? Does this mean you cant get air ride for 03+ Civics?
The front bags that are coming are meant for 50mm setup..... my front strut is 55mm... to make it fit do i have to get a 01 front strut and drill the 14mm whole to a 16mm.....? Dooes anyone make Front struts that are 16mm bolt with 50mm shaft size

honestly you could probably get a shop to drill out the bottom hole of the strut and call it a day.
What i wouldn't do is use a smaller bolt... that strut will probably rattle around like a ****.
If you have the cash... then buy new front strut/bags for the 03+ But just to let you know... it's just the same strut with a bigger hole which you can drill out yourself.

Crack kills... But then again... So do I...

Dude... that's not neccisarily the case... We installed my easy street kit on my 01 this weekend, and had major problems when it came to the front. apparently my front struts are bigger than other civics. I'm guessing same predicament(sp) that you are in. What we found that we had to do to get the bags to fit was to actually knock off the little gold or silver ring that is right at the base of the strut. It does fit after. Sorry... I cannot think of all the terms right now or I'd help you out, but you do have to pop off that little piece for it to fit. We were told that you need to tighten the hell out of it and try to twist the bag. The bag should not turn at all. if it does, then you need to invest in new struts.
