lookin for a suspension???

Ok I've come down to the wire as for a suspension im tired of my ride feeling like crap and i need to redo the whole thing anyway. So I've come to the conclusion of going with a Tein dampening kit aka coilovers. I'm leaning towards the Tein basic coilovers but am trying to figure out how much better the Tein SS coilovers are (besides that im also seeing that the SS are only about 300 hundred dollars more). I'm not a genious when it comes to performance parts or anything for that matter and am looking for good solid opinions. So please help me out here.

btw can you also recommend some place to get them cheap but within a reasonable time from an online store or if anybody from the New Jersey area knows a place to get them cheap let me kno.

Why not post in the suspension forum?

You have to figure out if you need dampening adjustability. If you don't, then get basics.

Ask the vendors here or search ebay. Buying in a store is way more expensive than online.

1) search
2) see what the review section has to say
3) Pick one....either one is fine for street use

Check the vendors here for prices.

Well, we need more info......

such as what do you have right now (for suspension) and what is important to you in regards to suspension (adjustiblilty? ride quality? handling performance?)

bah, he obviously doesn't know enough about suspension to get into fine tuning like you and me. Just let him get some some streetable teins and call it a day...

I'll tell u right now i dont kno anything right now i have neuspeed springs and hate how bumpy the ride feels i want to get coilovers to be able to adjust the hieght for future mods like a body kit and rims. But i also want to have a smooth clean ride with good handling to accelerate into turns as i please.

i have the basics slammed in the front and a couple of threads up in the back and they ride smooth but just avoid the pothole filled roads, the front the camber is not really bad but more of a toe problem and the back depending on how low you go you should get a camber kit anyway

lol only neuspeed springs, maybe thats why your ride is so harsh, why not just get some shocks?

I realize that bro thats why my upgrade focus has shifted into my suspension but i want something adjustable aka coilovers so that i can adapt my ride height to future mods on my car. The only thing i am 100% sure about is that i want coilovers made by tein everything else is out of the question my car was bought used about 2 years ago with a few prior mods to it including the neuspeed springs and honestly i cant do it anymore im tired of driving my car with the way its riding i dont take the cheap way out with anything when it comes to my car i dont want the headaches later on with it.

The problem with my car is its previous owner who did everything the cheap way trying to get the car looking good spending only a few thousand on it and im not interested in that. Only things I'll give him credit for are the interior leather seats very clean good job and the tints other then that the suspension gotta go the strobe kit has to be changed bulbs were hanging loose inside the headlight housing the hid's burnt the original stock headlight housing but I've already fixed that problem and the interior jl audio speakers were crap but I've taking care of all of that already I'm now focused on fixing the suspension so i can then get my body kit and actually be able to get rims in the fender well with out scraping the tire on my fenders every bump on the road.

So yes the neuspeed spring are harsh but im not looking to spend money on shocks to then go back and spend money on the coilovers and dump everything i had out all over again. I want the money spent once and spent right period....

My 3 choices

Tokico Blues and Tein S-Techs (1.5 drop) ($380 for shocks $150 for springs) This is what i have

Koni Yellows and GC's (Adjustable) ($600 for shocks $300 for the spring/slevees) Most Popular

Tociko Blues are shocks made for a small drop with better peromance than a stock shock.

Koni Yellows are one of the best shocks made. They are good for lower drops and better performance then a Tociko Blue or OEM Shock

__________________________________________________ ______________

Tein FLEX with EDFC (Adjustable) ($1500 for the coilovers, $300 for the EDFC Unit) This is what i want

I think this is what most of us want lmao but im looking for good performance from the suspension with out spending 1500 on coilovers. I'm just trying to find out how much of a difference do u get from the basic to the SS to the flex obviously the flex > SS > basic but is it that noticeable of a difference???

Well from what ive been seeing on the sites that sell them they arent the same the SS with the pillow ball mounts are sold as that then they have the type flex they dont really group them together they separate it so there should be some difference. And by the way where would u get them from are u ordering online or at a local shop and if it is online can you hook me up with a link for the best price you find them at?
