!!$700 for Installation!?!?
Just a quick question guys...
how much should it cost to have my Tokico Blues installed? i just called Tire World and they said 680something! That CAN'T be right...thats twice the price of the blues themselves!!!! im just wondering what the average cost of labor would be...700 just seems really really steep.
i know i know...i should do it myself....

haha i did...i said.. "man, you're nuts! who would pay that?" and he said thats their price. i called the only other shop in town who i would take it to...they said 290.00. Im just gunna have them do it - i mean they make credit cards for a reason, right? lol. i really just don't feel like messing with it. i mean, i did my springs myself and they creek and crack and bump and make noise like no other. sounds likle my top mounts are loose or something - i dunno, id just rather pay them and have the peace of mind that its going to be done right for sure - and if something happens with the install i can take it right back and not have to worry myself over it. i was expecting to pay around 300

yeah..and those same 14 bolts took me 2 days to get on/off when i put my neuspeed sports in. lol. i tried to hammer out the tie rods from where the connect to the strut - striped both nuts - so i sorta jimmy rigged it when i put it back on. basically the tie rod end was held on to the strut by 1 groove on each side - with NO cotter pins. eventually as i was driving one night i lost steering - so again, i jimmy rigged it right there on the side of the road and drove home. ended up having to get new tie rod ends on both sides. that cost me an extra 170. so if i screw up and i have to pay to have someone fix it again...i might as well pay like 100 bucks up front and save myself the grief. any besides - id spend that extra 100 bucks on beer, seeing as it would probably take another 2 days lol.
believe me im all for DIYing...but im really tired of having a crappy ride - i want it done right.

Thats why you do it yourself, you say you don't feel like doing it but then you get raiped on charges, just like someone said before, plan to spend some hours doing it and get ya a friend and a case of beer and go at it. Not only will you feel satisfaction after you do it, but you will save yourself a Sh*t load of money.

yeah - but if i do it myself and screw up, then have to pay to have it redone, or fixed, it will have cost me all my time, plus beer, PLUS the cost to have it redone.
i just thought if i got it done right the first time it'd be easier

Its really not that hard, I helped my buddy put in his shocks and springs, it took a little longer than usual but thats because people were interupting and other things side tracked us. There is a DIY that tells you step by step, but if you do it right then you saved you money, then you can resort to having someone do it.

haha i know its not that hard - but stupid crap always comes up. like when i put my springs on i had ONE fvcking more nut to bolt on to the tie rod and the tie rod bolt was so stripped from me trying to get it out in the first place that i couldn't get it back on. worked at getting it on for like 3 hours then gave up that night. worked on it for another 2 -3 hours the next day- finally we forced it on using an impact - then like a month later i had to have both my tie rod ends replaced. so if i would have paid the money to have it done right the first time it would have saved 2 days of hassle and getting new tie rod ends. (not to mention all the beer/bud/pizza i went through trying to keep everybody helping me haha)
not only would i have saved myself some hassle - but my springs might have not have been so noisey - i think i put my top mounts on the wrong direction or something.

yeah for sure ill get some new pics up soon. hopefully the rear wont be saggy anymore. i hate saggy as$es haha
I've dropped about 7 cars now, including my car twice. It's not hard, they have DIYs for it and it takes on average of 1 1/2 to 3 hrs in the driveway. I'm a novice too!! Im just saying you couldn't have screwed up that bad..

no trust me, we screwed up pretty bad. we worked on it from like 12 - 8, not constatly of course, then the next morning it took like 2 hours and a drive to my friends big rig repair shop to use their impact to get it fixed. it was such a pain
anyways...update..
i got the tokico hps in...and DAMN its like a night and day difference from stock!! i mean holy ****! its soooooooo nice compared to what i was driving on before! i can't believe how much of a difference it makes!!! the ONLY thing though...i still have a saggy ***
do ya think the front will settle any more?

Fronts will settle a little, my rears settled more, when i first put them on they were perfect, now the rear is a little lower, the only fix really is to either get a coilovers, so you can get it perfect.
that's retarded. u should've did it yourself. it's easier than u think. i would never go to an damn shop for my suspension. it's too f*cking easy. there's diy's everywhere about it!!!

There is gl@ss in my @SS...
