NEED HELP!!.Tokico HP and Ground Control install

Ok, so i was installing my Tokico HP shocks and GC coilovers today when i ran into some snags. I have a problem with the bearings in my front shocks, and fitting the GCs onto the rear shocks.. Pictures and captions below will explain my problems..

[IMG][/IMG]

This first picture is a picture of my bearing put on the GCs as explained in the directions. But, my problem is that there is a gap where the bearings are exposed as shown, so how do they stay clean, and if this is the way its supposed to be, how do u keep the bearings from falling out when u adjust the height of the coils?

[IMG][/IMG]

This picture shows the three parts u need to get the shaft and spring perch onto the rear shock, but its really hard to get the rubber piece under the GC like its supposed to be...so am i doing it wrong?

[IMG][/IMG]

so, this is the only way i can get this to fit, as pictured....this can't possibly be right, is it?

Any help is GREATLY appreicated.

What bearings are you talking about? The front all you should have to to do is take the mounts off the stock and throw them on the GCs, but I don't know the instructions.

As for the rears, I think that is the only way to fix them. Tokicos weren't designed with sleeved coils in mind.

I am not sure what else to say....

Well, here are the instructions for the fronts. Does this help in answering my question? Thanks

Those is some ghetto directions!! haha

Ok, I know what bearing you are talking about now. That should all go back onto the shock the way you took it off. Why wouldn't the bearing fit on the front? It looks like you have to stick the upper mount into that bearing. Did it not fit?

the thing is that the bearings from the factory are on the upper spring perch, but u have to dicard that to put the GCs on. So u have to put the bearings on the top hat thing that goes right on top of the spring, then put them up in the upper mount, but there is not way to secure them up there, so they bearing ring can be loose when u are adjusting the height.

it shouldn't be loose. IT looks the GC cap should fit in the bearing. Once the car is lowered, the cap and the mount shouldn't separate. But I cuold be wrong. PM boilermaker.

i called GC this morning and got an answer. The rubber track for the bearings comes off the Stock Upper Spring Perch..which i didn't think it did. They just said it would be hard to get off cause it has been on there for along time. So now i think i am set...and for the rear, GC didn't send me the right O ring to fit, so they are sending that to me as well....thanks for all your help man....i know u were trying hard to figure this out

I entirely understand what you are trying to say here. Even though the bearing comes off the top larger bearing housing, it should all align up nicely when you lower the car. This is because the shock piston goes through all the components and i believe the tolerance should be very tight between the piston and components. Only '02 and '03s have this bearing. '01s and '04s have a plastic piece which is greased up and serves as a bearing. The only downside of Ground Controls would be when the car goes off the round too high and the springs get uncompressed fully and there is a gap between the bearing and the top hat. This might cause a knocking or banging sound when the car gets back down.

when i installed my gcs on the blues in the rear i just took out that rubber piece. it was too big and wouldnt fit through. i just cut some garden trim and stuffed it in the gap between the sleeve and shock. worked fine.
