Pro Kit vs Sportline
Pro Kit vs Sportline
So many people have said that you can get the pro kit without having have to upgrading your shocks. As well with sportlines, i see alot of people dont even touch there shocks, when lowering with the sportlines.
the pro kit is suppose to lower 1" the sportline kit 1.4", alot of people will state that "once settled they lowered farther than i imagined" anyone with vast knowledge please tell me what is tru!
im going to be putting on 16's what one is best for me?

the sportline can settle to almost 1.7....i rode on them for a long time when i had my 01 EX and they were perfect. nice drop and good ride quality. they would be fine with 16 and even 17's if you wanted to do that and there's no need to upgrade the struts unless you really want to. other than that just wait till the stock ones go.
The Pro-Kit ride very nicely but it really a matter of personal choice & opinion. Both springs are great. I personally would prefer the Sportline even though it's less comfortable ride than the Pro-Kit. Ride quality is really depends on your own personal preference because I know few friends of mine that don't like the Sportline ride quality because it's too stiff. The Sportline is still ride very nicely too in my opinion. The Pro-Kit isn't low enough in my opinion. The drop isn't quite noticable.

I got the Pro-Kit for my car and I think its fantastic. Of course, my goal with all modifications is to preserve a factory appearance and only modify for the sake of technical improvement. Parked next to another 7th gen though (which happens at least daily it seems) you can see a clear difference in the fender gap. Ride is excellent, far better than my previous all-stock with "custom" blown struts
I just installed the prokit today on my sedan with tokico struts and already it is 1 finger gap at each fender/wheel well.. I think it might settle some more.. the ride quality of this combo is amazing.. i like it better than stock

I got the pro-kit w/ a two finger gap all around after a month. I'm riding on 215/40/17 IMO it's a clean drop all I wanted to do is cover up the wheel gap. If you really want a noticable drop the sportline is definitely the way to go. I would have gone w/ the sportline but my civic is a daily driver and i didn't want to worry so much about scrapping or speed bumps hitting the underside of my car.

Pro-Kit
Sportline
I'll try and find a bigger pic and post it up
There ya go, the springs have settled more since this pic but it gives you an idea. This pic is after Pro-kit, Spc camber and new wheels installed

yea mugenman, thats what i have been debating all winter long, whether or not to get the pro kit or sportline, im thinking that...
Pro Kit Pros
.covers up fender gap
.dont have to worry about scraping everywhere(being in PA you have to worry about these things)
.shocks are less likely to blow
Pro Kit Cons
.not low like the sportline
Sportline Pros
.nice and low
Sportline Cons
.shocks are more than likely going to blow
*Feel free to continue adding to the Pros/Con list of these two Eibach springs*

WTF.. those pics look like a photochop to me...
Anyway, I have Sportlines and its about a 1.5'ish drop. Rides close to stock except when you push them or get on the bumpy stuff. My car is a daily driver that I put over 300 miles on a week. I've only scraped one speed bump ever, and that was with a 300 pound friend in the p-seat and 150 pounder in the back.
Call up Eibach and they'll tell you that the Prokit is 10-15% firmer then stock and the Sportlines are 20-25% on average. At least this is what they told me before.

The second pic is a photochop of my car w/ sportlines and 35% tint. The others are just pics of my car after installing some stuff. Just a little visual aid.

Here's my dilemma, I just picked up some 17x7.5 5zigen Fn01R-C, with Kumho Ecsta MX 215-45Y17. The gap in the rear is only 1.5" now, maybe 1.75" in the front. I don't want to change the shocks/struts yet. SO, do I go with the Prokit and camber kit, or push my luck with the Sportlines, they would be sitting on my rears. The only reason I am concerned is that I drive in Boston on horrific roads daily. What to do?

In MassMayhem case i would go w/ the prokit and a camber kit. Sportline might be too much of a drop if you already have a 1.5 in the rear. The prokit will cover that gap up nicely. But that's just my 2 cents

i've been thinking about this also like most....and i don't want to get the pro and want it lower. i think i want the sportline and im gonna be driving to columbia from st. louis (bout 100 miles) for college about every other weekend.
will the shocks be that large of a problem....this is the first time i've heard about the shocks blowing.
basically.....im leaning for sportline cause i want the lower look but im tempted to get pro cause the ride and more reliablity. i avoid bad roads as it is so ride shouldn't be that big of a deal.

You'll need to replace your shocks. The sooner the better but w/ the prokit they should last longer and one other thing is you will need a camber kit if you don't want to be replacing tires every year. I suggest the SPC camber kit
