Tein Ss-p!! Info And Possible Gb!! [updated]!!
I was browsing the TEIN website, for the 1109283047198th time and came across the TEIN SS-P:

i found the pic on a celica forum (so if this person is reading this thread, i appologize for taking ur pic, but i'm just showing it to my fellow 7thgeners, its so pretty!)
anyway, there is an application listed for the 01+ civics coupe/sedan
UPDATE: after calling in a few TEIN retailers and getting a hold on TEIN, it has been confirmed (a few members have also confirmed this) that the TEIN SS-P system does come with both front and rear pillowball upper mounts, as shown in that picture (which is for a celica). The difference is that the top of the spring in the SS-P is linear, while the SS is tappered. This allows the SS to be used with stock upper mounts. But for the 02+ civics, you're gonna end up buying 01 mounts in order to install the SS's so may as well dish out a few more dollars for genuine TEIN pillowball upper mounts that are damn pretty! ^_^ (not like u'll see it, but psychologically it makes u feel better)
Anyway, the SS-P springs will only be able to be used with the TEIN upper mounts which come with the system anyway, and everything else is the same with regular SS, same adjustability, same spring rates, same compatibility with the EDFC.
All in all, i see this as a no lose situation. And since Ed. (Truehonda) and Jeff (StreetLevelPerformance) are trying to put together a GB for those who are interested, it just doesn't get any better than this. Look foward to some good prices guys, and don't miss out on this deal.

i haven't a clue, i think ed (truehonda) is still looking into the matter...i e-mailed tein about the SS-P's so I'm waiting on their reply (probably sometime monday) and then we'll have to see what price ed can get us. I really hope this will work out in our favor! ^_^

It will be front and rear, the rears don't do anything special but act like solid mounts (no rubber isolator like stock). Just makes it harder. The full set separately is about $400 US from Tein, I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar increase from the SS. The SS-P kit is completely different, the dampers are not the same. I have the plates for the front, they work quite nicely.
Tein Ss-p Do Come With Pillow Ball Mounts F/r & Upper Mounts...thats What Tein Said...i Can Get The Best Deal On Tein Basic, Ss, Ss-p, & Flex...only In Southern Cali Though...let Me Know My Fellow 7thgeners...

Yeah, i also confirmed with TEIN that the SS-P come with BOOOOOOOTH front and rear pillow ball upper mounts.
Also a note. With the TEIN SS, the springs are tapered at the top and you can use stock upper mounts if you wish, but with the SS-P, they are "true" performance suspension system where the spring are NOT tapered at the top so you can't use stock mounts even if you wanted to. I said wut the hell, since most member buy pillowball upper mounts for their SS systems anyway, who cares about the springs being tappered. Plus linear springs are better for performance anyway, you just lose a bit of the comfort.
All other aspects are same as the regular TEIN SS's, same adjustability, same spring rate (can customize your own if you want), same compatibility with EDFC if in the future you plan to do this upgrade.
To SLP and Truehonda: I love you guys for trying to get this deal together. If you get a GB for the TEIN SS-P for around 12.5 shipped or lower, go ahead and add my name to the GB list! ^_^ I've been waiting a long time for this.

i opted for the regular SS, i kinda want some ride comfort. the pillow mounts transfer a noticible amount of vibration into the passanger compartment.
