There was a review on the d2 coilovers written sometime ago, but i can't seem to locate that thread anymore.

but what do you all think about d2 products? honestly, i've never heard of em, and based on personal judgement i'd pick the TEIN's just because i've heard more stuff about them.

anyone got details specs on the d2? springs rate, blah blah blah...cause the only thing i know about them is that they are 32 way adjustable, and are purple! ^_^ oh, and they ahve camber plates! that's a plus, but TEIN SS have camber plates as well.

Value wise, the d2 coilovers are much cheaper, but performance wise, I am uncertain. Looking to hear what you all have to say.

Theres a rumour that D2s are more or less just rebadged TEINs, but like I said, only a rumour.

D2s are not rebadged Teins and I don't know how you want to compare a lesser known name to a great brand name? I mean d2s come with a lot of good stuff on them but not many people here have them. Troll around clubRSX or ephatch.com and see what they say about them.

yeah d2s are definitely not rebadged teins...

the person who wrote the review was me and after what a year of having them, i still LOVE them. I was on a 2.5" drop with 18s(right now i'm on 15s) and it still rode nice.

i may stick with the teins.

i mean is there an advantage to having 32way adjustability? vs 16 way? it could be that every degree of adjustment for the d2 is half that of the teins, so 32 way is just a fine tunned 16 way adjustment. I dunno if i'll even need that much adjustability.

in the end, i'm still biased on brand and want to go with teins.

I never knew Tien SS models came with camber plates. Is this a new feature for the 05 models?

yeah honestly you probably wont even need the 32 way adjust.. i touched them like 5 times and havnt touched them since. reason why i opted for the d2s were the price.. $850 compared to $1100 and you get just as much, if not more features. I took a gamble by going with a brand that isnt as popular as teins but i figured, whats the worst that could happen. If anything goes wrong, its warranteed so no big deal. But yeah in the end i'm satisfied so... I would say you could always get in my car but dude, your in san diego... i'm supposed to go down there sometime soon but eh if i ever do i'll let you know.

and your right, the only fact that was swaying me towards the d2's were the price...ever since that $850 offer, the price can gone up $150, so there's not mcuh difference in prices between the TEIN SS's and the D2's.

btw, did the d2's come with rear upper mounts? or did u have to use the ones frmo your stock suspension setup?

the rear, i had to use my stock uppermounts. its really easy to pop off though, you dont need a spring compresser or anything. I just put a towel over it just incase it flies off but it didnt really go anywhere. But yeah the front (as you know) came with the pillowball uppermount.

I dont think the teins come with the rears either. I never even knew they came with the fronts, from what i know you had to get 01 uppermounts for them to work.

The number of adjustments means squat when it comes to tuning. whats really important is What is changed in the adjustment. as in are you altering the bump valving? Rebound? Both? and then theres the Low, Mid and High shock speed valving... each alters the dampers ride and handling different.. Thats what you need to know.

Dude VNlilman, where did you find em for $850? Cheapest I found the D2 coilovers was for $1050. If its that price, Id rather get the Teins.

i got the same price as nodnero...mike from urban imports probably gave Nod the quote too....

i found urban import's thread when Mike was selling the d2's and it said specifically in the forum that that was the only where it would be sold for $850, and soon after that the prices will surely rise, and indeed it did!

i also have the d2 coilovers, and i love em. for the price they cant be beat. as for the srping rates you asked about the normal d2s come with 6 front and 8 rear. mine however have 8 front and 10 rear. i wouldn't worrie about the damping adjustability unless you are racing, and the only way to truely know the differnce between the levels (d2 or tein) is to get them on a shock dyno.

The introductory price of $850 was given by the manufacturer to break into the US market. Unfortunately cost has gone up substantially since that time. If you look at the features offered on the D2 coilover (dampner adjustability, camber plates, mono-tube design) this is still a lot of coilover for the money.

I have them for about a year as well. They are a good set of coils. Im sure if you get a set now that they are even better. THey have black teflon? coated threads now and they just look sick as hell.

THe ride is nice and firm, I have abused mine to no end and there is NO sign of leakage.

I didnt get the quote from Mike @ UrbanImport, it wasnt from anybody here but I forgot where I got it from. I am unsure about whether to get these or the OMNI coils.
