opinion poll- best shocks currently

ok, I'm doing new shocks this week, read the faq(a little old) and want a couple informed opinions on the best for my needs. I only drive around town, love to corner, and don't raise the car in winter. I'm currently on 2" tenzor drop springs, and getting my 17's on this week also. I'm looking for quality and reliability and for fun street driving. As far as ride goes, I like a sporty feel, but don't want to taste my nuts. Help a fellow out. Thanks p.s. its an 02 coupe.

best shocks would be Koni.
however if you want direct replacement, then go with Tokico D-spec or something.

1) There are no "best" of anything
2) You don't need the adjustability of the d-specs or the AGX but they can handle a 2" drop and Tokico blues cannot. Konis would be the best shock out now, but they require modification.
3) Did you read this? http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=171892

tokico d spec? are they of good quality, and possibly a lifetime warranty like the koni? do the konis still maintain the lifetime warranty after the modification?

If I'm not mistaken, only koni and KYB offer lifetime warranty. Tokico offers only one year. And yes, the konis still maintain the warranty, they're cartridge type strut replacement, the modification is required to be installed, it's a modification of the stock struts to fit the cartridges. Boilermaker did a DIY of the konis, you might want to check it out.

stop being nitpicky or I will get you banned hehe

In terms of quality, koni would "probably be the best" but konis would probably not be the best for this guy because he only does daily driving and no racing.

From looking at some shock dynos... KYB AGX'x have a stiffer bump setting... so It could be assumed that the AGX will actually have a slightly harsher ride.

I am not sure about all the technical specs of each unit, but I am extremely happy with the AGX on my car.
