Bang the arm downward with a hammer.

The rear drum shoe thing is in the brake section. Are you taking the whole arm off or just the brake hub? If you are taking the whole thing off there are two bolts that go up verticle to the car right behind the jack point. Then you have to removed the rear control arm bolt. I would first remove the two bolts that attach the hub to the control arm then drop the arm. It is really easy. You might need something to extend the socket wrench to get more torque.

The easiest way to brake the tapper fit is to losen the nut to the end of the stud to protect the threads. Get a hammer and hit VERY hard and exzactly on the SIDE of the control arm where the stud goes thru . If you have a ball pien hammer use the the ball side of the hammer it will direct all the force to a center single point whne the hammer hits. This may take anywhere from 1-5 swings. After the tapper has broken free take nut off rest of the way ....Ta-Da!.

As for brake shoes as rob said... Best way is leave one side on and take other side apart noting how each spring is oriented and reverse procedure to install new shoes
