Tein Basic?
If You had your choice would you go with Tein Basic or Tein SS?

I've got Tein SS sitting in the corner of my room, waiting for spring.
But, whatever you do, I'd buy from an actual dealer, and not off eBay. I'd be too worried about warranty and stuff like that.

I bought the basics and I love them. They do ride a little rough if you drop it pretty low but they still absorb the bounce very well which is the thing I appreciate the most.
I hated my car dropped with oem shocks.

yeh, if car is not fast enough in street/track, you not enjoy the excitement of coilover........

right, but really...........hp doesn't mean much when it comes to suspension. Basics are good enough for a 400hp car.
I have TeinSS and the ride is awesome. I had it set at a very soft setting during the summer and they ride awesome. Right now that I have my stock wheels on I set them for a firm ride and they eat up corners whenever I feel like having a little fun.
And when does horse power has anythign to do with performance suspension? Lotus Elise puts out 190 hp and with a performance suspension it'll eat up any 500 hp car on any road unless the road is straight.

yeah the basics and ss share the exact same design for drop characteristics, afaik. the only diff between the basic and ss is that the ss has adjustable dampers.
hm...this makes me worry. lol.
