...is it safe to add about 100 to 160 lbs of weight in my trunk in the form of, lets say, car stereo equipment? i noticed that my rear sits about a quarter to a half an inch lower when i add this weight. is this safe or will this be bad for my shocks? i'm lowered on neuspeed sport and tokico blues.

how low is your drop on neuspeeds? Im on tokicos, and I have goldline springs (2" or so) My ride is fine, so if the drop isnt as low as mine, you should be fine. springs are a 1.75 drop, but is at least 2" from when they were first put on, and sagged just a little bit. My suspension is very tight/stiff with a little over 2" though.

It doesn't work unless you leave the weight there permanently. We had my trunk loaded down with stuff for a week and when it came out the ride height went back to normal (it was slammed almost with the stuff back there

A rear sway bar won't stop the car from sitting any lower. It will stop it from rolling more around the corners. I would be cautious. When the sturts are compressed some all the time it shortens the lifespan of them. You might want to consider a stiffer spring.
